Great historic place to visit. The fort is really cool for history buffs and gives you a very good view of Lake George. Been there several times now and have never really been disappointed.
It is a replica but does have the original excavated fireplace and I guess some bricks and stone in the powder magazine? I wish they had talked more about which parts of the powder magazine had original bricks instead of one vague statement. I also think the price is a bit much.
Overall it's still one of my favorite places in Lake George. The muskets and cannon displays are cool, a lot of the historic displays are neat although the mannequins are a little outdated and think they could use the space better.
We had the guided tour, all the guides were very informed about the history. The demonstrations were amazing when you think about what these soldiers had to go through just to load a musket and cannon. The fort itself was interesting as my husband and I thought about how cold it must have been there in the winter and the only heat was the fireplaces, if the room you and your roommates had one. Great for kids to learn about the history.
This is a fort I honestly (as a history buff) didn't know as much about. I am so glad I got to see this wonderful fort which played a major part in The French and Indian War. The fort is impeccably clean. The staff is friendly. The fort is full of interactive and informative pieces of history. The fort is situated on beautiful Lake George and is in walking distance to all of Lake George's amenities. There is a good sized gift shop that is on the property as well! I recommend a visit to this amazing fort if you are in the area. I had a great time during my visit, thank you!
We had a great time on the tour. Even my 6 year old enjoyed it. My four year old at least like the canon shooting. :)

My wife and I visited the fort William Henry museum and loved it. The employees were very knowledgeable and friendly. The fort is steeped in history and very scenic being on Lake George. Lastly the gif shop is large and well appointed.
Wow! What a treat! So informative and entertaining!! Great way to learn history, GO ON THE TOUR!❤️ Muskets and Canons and GREAT historian actor/tour guides. Be sure to walk the museum in and out…. Preferably before the tour, takes about 45 minutes if you’re into reading about all the memorabilia, artifacts and history.
