Food is always great there,, one of my favorite burger places to eat one
First time at this location. Got some food to go and it was excellent! Will repeat for sure.
Decent, but do yourself a favor and patronize the original on Johnston St.
Good Eats. Has a wide variety of typical American foods. Good burgers, salads, fish dishes and appetizers. Service is usually pretty good, but it does get busy on the weekends.
Been awhile, not that bad. It was quiet in the restaurant, which was nice after a long workday. We asked for the small cup of roasted peanuts. Started off with the loaded potato skin appetizer. They were really good and steaming hot. Then our main meal. I got the grilled salmon with a side salad and steamed veggies. Salmon was cooked to perfection. However, the sauce that was used was really tart, almost like a mustard taste. Not exactly what I remembered from previous visits. My husband got the chicken cordon blue wrap with fries. He was a little disappointed because it was supposed to have BBQ sauce, and he said there was hardly any on the wrap. Other than the sauce issues, the food was good as far as temperature goes. The waiter was very nice and attentive to our needs. I would have liked dessert, but I was a little full. Maybe next time.
I grew up loving Ground Pati in Kenner where I grew up. In Lafayette now and tried this one today. OMG the burger was exactly like I remember. Amazing burger. Totally underrated. My husband got the cordon blue sandwich and it was also amazing - so tender and flavorfully marinated. Awesome chili also. And they have a free party room and I scheduled an upcoming meeting for an organization I am involved with. We will be frequent customers.
The service was fair and typical for what I've experienced from many restaurants post pandemic, it seems hard to get good employees. They weren't rude or mean, just average at their job. The food was good. They have a good selection of American fare and burgers seem to be their specialty. It isn't the kind of place that I'd plan to go to on an evening out but if your out and about and need a quick bite it is not a bad choice.
I miss Ground Pat'i. We were regular customers of the Johnston location when I was growing up here. I was never a fan of the new one and the original went downhill. Well I'm glad I went back to the one on Kaliste Saloom today. The burger was perfect. It tasted just like they did back in the day....fresh, handmade, and full of flavor. My Mom loved the Santa Fe Chicken salad too! The service was pleasant and efficient and we met the new owner. He's a nice guy that says he is working on bringing it back to the old school experience. He's doing a good job. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.
***note the new owner is only affiliated with the Kaliste Saloom location and these comments are only about that location. I have still not had a good experience at the original on Johnston.
Nice cozy restaurant, we got a table right next to the fireplace! Food was decent service was great!
Consistently good food. Nice restaurant. You get to enjoy free peanuts while you wait on your food.
Great restaurant!! Been coming to ground pati as a kid!! If you live here you know if you don’t then you’re just going to have to try it out for yourself and see what I’m talking about!!!! 🎤 👍👍
Burgers were really good and the fried mushrooms were the best .All cooked perfect and fresh tasting. Beer was nice cold . Service was friendly .

Crispy chicken sandwich with French Fry’s! Didn’t disappoint! We go often and staff is always nice!!
