Also, I recommend the lunch buffet. I'm a person that almost never eats at buffets, but the freshness, and variety leaves me looking forward to my next visit and making my perfect plate.
I've frequented this restaurant for many years and have never felt disappointed!
Price is very reasonable , food was excellent, friendly service. Honestly my only complaint if I to have one, is they didn't serve wine with the great food... but I was informed that I could have brought my own ! Will definitely go again!!
We love Athena's! We eat there about once a month. The food is consistently delicious and served in generous portions(my wife and I usually share an entree). I suggest trying everything. I haven't found anything on the menu that I did not enjoy.

This is one of my all time favorite places to eat in lafayette. The food is always consistent and delicious. The wait staff is friendly but doesn't provide over the top service.
This buffet lunch is marvelous! It has three kinds of chicken, gyros meat, kaffa meatballs, and others. It has perfectly cooked roasted veggies. I was wonderful surprised at how tasty it was. If you are looking for a quick lunch, which tastes good, come here!
Absolutely love this place and it gets better each time I have a chance to eat there. I had the opportunity to spend some time with the owner and anyone can see that he is proud of his product. Every time I go by, he has me try something different and I am always surprised that he remembers the dishes I have had before. His pride shows in the food, as it is always fresh and well seasoned. If eating at the restaurant, I suggest that you try the spiced tea, it's awesome! The hummus is the best in Lafayette. The chicken schwerma, beef kabobs, and grilled lamb are my favorites. I've even converted my two picky eating teenage boys to this fantastic food!
I moved to Florida a little over a year ago from Lafayette. I STILL crave the lentil soup. I have tried to recreate it countless times. I would pay money to have this recipe. Seriously. If anyone has it, please help me out here! I really miss this place!!!!
One of our favorite places to eat in Lafayette and some really great Greek food! Always clean and orderly, friendly and attentive staff. The complimentary lentil soup when you arrive is wonderful at any time, but when it's cold out it's even more so. We usually get the Sampler Dip appetizer and it comes with hummus, tzatziki, baba ganoush, and Greek dip with pita bread (white or wheat). I tend to either get the Gyro plate or Gyro pasta. My husband has tried different things and all have been very good. This place also has a buffet if you come earlier in the day.
My family&I are huge huge fans of Athena. We love everything about it. And the Lebanese tea is so great. Who has ever heard of a Lebanese buffet?? That means you can have as much gyro as you want!!!!!!!

Great food, great staff, at great prices. Notice a trend?. We had tried some Greek and Lebanese restaurants in N. Louisiana, but just couldn't find one that left us with a great, or even just good, all around experience. Food was often just OK, and/or the service was often just OK, and usually the prices were often just not OK. But then on a visit early summer 2014, we visited a friend in Lafayette. We checked out Athena Greek and Lebanese Food. Wow. First, the staff is fantastic, Personable, and professional. Especially our waitress - she was personable, funny, and provided great service. Just a great person. And then the food, the delicious food. At good prices. On top of it all, they have a little Greek and Lebanese food store as well - stock up on some nice exotic (well, for us!) treats and head home. We are going to visit our friend again soon, and yep, we are going to Athena Greek and Lebanese Food again.
Above average. First time? Order the Athena special for two. If you and your dining partner can eat it all, then you are both gluttons. Don't be a pig get a to-go box.
Until Athena, I did not care for baba ganush--theirs is good. The Gyro meat is seasoned but the seasoning did not over power the meat--unlike elsewhere. The owners are pleasant--as compare Zeus--you can tell because the employees generally enjoy working there.
Please bring the buffet back!!!!!! So saddened they don’t offer the lunch buffet anymore! Food here is still amazing!! We got the special for 2 ppl and it was sooo much food!! Waitress was amazing and very attentive ;)
Beautiful food, delicious. Extremely reasonable prices, especially their lunch menu. ($14) Lamb shanks were top of the scale, presentation and flavor.

We decided to have a mother/ daughter date and watch My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 and figured why not have Greek for lunch afterwards. BEST DECISION EVER.
They greeted us with a cup of lentil soup that was so flavorful yet simple it was a perfect teaser for the meal. The meat stuffed grape leaves with tzatziki and hummus were amazing we got a mix of white and wheat pita and both were warm and soft. Next the brought small salads drizzled with olive oil and topped with a tomato and a pepper. Mom ate Chicken Shwarma and I had the Athena Combo for 1. The chicken and lamb were cooked to perfection. Beautifully plated with rice and a portion of hummus. My combo also included a side of a falafel,grape leaf and tzatziki. The portions are very generous and we have plenty left over for lunch tomorrow 🥰🥰 We finished our meal with a piece of both Baclava available and they were delicious as well.
Bonus, they also have a little shop full of Mediterranean snacks, seasonings, tea/ coffee sets, perfumes and more. It was wonderful to walk around a little after we ate.
We will definitely be back with friends and family!!!

*This wonderful restaurant offers food varieties from Greek and Lebanese delicacies which are famous from many centuries. *Especially the bread and the spices they use are really so great that the taste of food gives a flavour of European and Middle-East countries great food. *Paradise for Non-Vegetarians especially who want to eat varieties of lamb and beef meat.

Stopped here on the way from Houston to New Orleans since they had vegetarian options. My wife had the falafel wrap and she said it's the closest she has had to the wraps back in Dubai. The beef wrap was great as well. Highly recommend!
Pretty good food here. The owner is around and seems to be pretty nice. There's also a nice market there where you can get bulk spices for low prices. Worth a visit even if you're only looking for spices.
Really miss the buffet, it’s what got me into Middle Eastern food as a child 💔 but i got a gyro on pita the other day around 2pm and it was the best $10 ive spent in a long time. Super fresh and delicious. Service is always a 10/10 and the atmostphere…cant beat it. I pray the buffet comes back eventually but nonetheless I love this place for life❤️
I was visiting for work and found thos restaurant in the plaza. OH MY amazing I think I ate there all week for lunch. The portion sizes were great. The complementary lentil soup was good. The dressing isn't strong or over powering. Chicken is great
I wish I had discovered this place sooner!!! I’ve lived here for -7 years and never went to try this food until today. The chicken swarma, lentil soup, salad, and hummus were all amazing and unique. I’ll definitely be coming back. Our waitress, Jood was super seeet and helpful as well. A+

Pasta with shrimp and chicken shawarma both comes with salad and were very delicious.
