Great place to escape to study, friendly employees and delicious white mocha :)
Quirky. Cafe Mojoe doesn't feel like a La Jolla establishment. For starters it offers an odd mix of coffee, sandwiches, Korean bibimbap, and sushi rolls. The interior feels like a loungy but spartan coffee shop with a couple of booths, small tables, a sofa, a collection of games, all sharing the same room as the food prep area. The cafe would feel more at home in Salt Lake or Vancouver. Being hidden behind a Yogi Topi frozen yogurt establishment on the corner only makes Cafe Mojoe more obscure. And yet despite what seems like a dearth of customers (around noon), Cafe Mojoe carries on.
I do like their bibimbap. And the owner seems very nice. Come here and hide when La Jolla starts to feel like a caricature of itself.
Cafe Mojoe, affectionately called Mojo's by the student regulars, is run by an incredibly sweet lady, Lydia. Expect excellent gourmet coffee offered at extremely low prices, and friendly service. The TV is always on, showing the latest sports games, and the atmosphere is local and chill.
Only drawback is the fanatical crowd of Bishop's students from the neighboring high school: Mojos is the most popular after-school cafe around, so make sure to be aware that the cafe becomes extremely busy around 3:00 in the afternoon.
