Alvaro’s is a 24-hour Mexican spot in north county Sam Diego that remains open both as a walk-in and a drive-thru. The California burrito is pretty solid and well-balanced with ingredients. The salsa is all right, but they give a generous amount if you ask. Definitely great as a late night spot.
Great Taco shop, been going here for years. The tacos are full of shredded beef, shredded lettuce and cheese add salsa and hot sauce so good!
The shop is nothing fancy but it taste amazing! I love eating in because they have a salsa bar and have jalapeño carrots. Plus if you need a late night snack they are open till midnight.
Found this place by accident tucked into a quiet little neighborhood. The beef tacos, rice, and beans were delicious. Very fresh tasting and reminded me of grandma's cooking. The enchiladas mixtas were also delicious. Service was quick and friendly. They have a very small dining area inside, but do offer some dining room outside. Their drive through is small, but efficient and you can actually understand the person speaking to you through the microphone. Self serve soda machine and good sized salsa bar with plenty of options available. Very clean inside and out. You can see into part of their kitchen from the dining room window and even that area was clean. Can't wait to go back if I'm in the area again.
I love this place. Best carne asada fries for the price and amount of food for your dollar. I always order a side of flour tortilla. Sometimes, we roll some of the fries into a burrito, and other times, it's good the next day to wrap up leftover breakfast stuff on the go. I also enjoy that they have so many salsa choices, and they dont charge extra for it. Thanks for the great service and food.
Chip and salsa is the highlight, warm with good salsa.
Best taco shop in poway , sorry for the half eaten food it looked better but it was to delicious to wait. Perfect staff they are friendly helpful and fast I love this taco shop
After moving to Texas we still come here when visiting. Have been coming here for years. Carne Asada Burritos are the best.
This place was soooo delicious! The cabeza tacos are were 5 for $8.50! The food was so good we got an additional plate of cabeza tacos!
I got the sausage and egg breakfast burrito and chips. Large burrito that you split. Chips are fresh, and the salsa bar is very good!
Stopped in for a bit of chow, after AAA appointment. Not been here before, but ordered my usual Mexican lunch special...Carne Asada Burrito with no Pico, and very little guacamole please. Made perfectly the way i wanted, fresh off stove...Sides available are great, multiple selections for sauces...but fact that they also have cool fresh cut radishes and cucumbers...Heaven!
Whisper voice: Shhhh they also have the Especial 5 (not 4) Cabeza tacos for $5.75. Do not know what the heckus that is, but, Dern Tootin i will be back for a round of them....Folks working here are friendly too!
