Had little expectations for this, it was much better than I thought. I got the chocolate chip cookie with Vanilla Beans ice cream, it was good. But, my wife got the Snickerdoodle cookie with Carmel ice cream, it was amazing!!
Staying in La Jolla just down the street from Lil' Dipper and loved that they were open late! I was craving ice cream, and this hit the spot! I recommend the ice cream / cookie sandwich - the woman there was more than happy to accommodate my request to have it served in a bowl.
When you walk in, you immediately smell fresh cookies in the oven - mmmm! Walked in expecting to get the mint chocolate chip, but when she offered as many samples as I'd want, I asked for a sample of salted caramel ice cream - now I had trouble deciding between them! I told her I was looking for pairing suggestions for ice cream & cookies, she suggested chocolate nut for the mint, or snickerdoodle with the salted caramel. I went with the snickerdoodle combo and walked back to my hotel happy with my dessert choice!
They deliver (by bike, locally) and accept Venmo.
Open till midnight with every type of accommodation possible from gluten free to dairy free to whatever! From Matcha ice cream to an amazing chocolate, all the flavors are divine! And the service is top notch, very amazing and helpful, always willing to work with whatever dietary and nutritional issues one might have, or to answer any questions that may arise!
I feel like the quality of the cookies has gone downhill recently. More often than not, when I go there the cookies are hard and dry. They used to always be warm and gooey. Maybe this place is receiving less foot traffic so they're baking less frequently now? Not sure. Hopefully things change for the better soon. 5 stars for the owner though, she is so nice and helpful!
I love the creativity of the flavors here (: the owner is also a joy to chat with about ice cream . I usually order the mini ice cream sandwich because it’s just easier to eat haha I appreciate that I have the option of vegan flavors of ice cream and cookie in case I’m not feeling dairy that day.
Little Dipper is amazing. I was lucky enough to find it before there was an official sign for this ice cream parlor nearly two years ago. I have frequented this place far too often. Barb is always super excited to see you and serves delicious organic, natural, etc. ice cream.
Love this place! While in now shape or form is ice cream healthy hahaha it sure does bring happiness to the soul, which in that case maybe it is sometimes healthy for you! Anyway Lil' Dipper is fantastic great tasting smooth rich and most of the time vegan. They even give you little Eco-friendly spoons. The music is also kinda a mind blow. Women working there, which is most likely the owner doesn't appear like the person who listens to Tupac, buggy, Dre.
If you enjoy pistachio ice cream you MUST eat this pistachio ice cream. Hands down some of the most delicious stuff I've ever eaten. Also, the staff is super friendly and the cookies are no joke.
