Best Açaí in town. If you've ever wondered how do Açaí bowls really taste like in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, this is as close as it gets. I must have tried hundreds of Açaí bowls in many places around San Diego but now that I found Clairemont Coffee I won't go anywhere else.
Solid acai bowl (Small size for $9 plus $1 extra for 1/2 Pitaya) with good quality standard fruit and standard toppings but nothing fancy or WOW like Northside Shack. 1 nice barista male and 1 straightforward barista female. Decent vibe, chill and sunny. Would return for a solid bowl not-in-downtown.
The staff are always friendly and witty. It can get very busy in here, but they manage the flow well and keep their good attitudes even during the rushes. I hear them interacting and joking with each other to keep moral up too during those busy times. Solid staff.
I loooooove this coffee shop. All the staff are so sweet and patient. They really do such a good job of making you feel special and important. That’s what really sets this place apart for me. Now, on top of them taking the time to learn your name and your order, the coffee is so good. My go to is a small French roast with an espresso shot added. I have to stop in to start my day, to see my friends and to get my coffee! I highly recommend!!!
Great coffee options. I don't think I've ever gotten something that I didn't like. Some of my favs: Hawaiian Creme Brulee (hot or iced) & Iced Green Tea. They've got creative seasonal drinks like Toast Ghosty and Peaches & Scream.
They also have a great variety of snacks. I love their Acai & Pitaya bowls ($9 small or $12 large) and Smoothies too. Always friendly staff & owners.
I usually go here for their Acai bowls however their coffee is a favorite of mine as well. Good for takeout or sitting down and working/meeting people.
Nice atmosphere! Great staff! Busy for a reason... They offer a small array of sweets, oats-in-a-cup, açaí bowls and ice cream, nothing truly savory. There's a Mexican diner and a sandwich/bagel shop next door, if you'd like to stop in on the way.
Coffee is tasty and reasonably priced. This shop is a nice addition to Clairemont Mesa!
Side note: The bathroom is nicely decorated! Funny art.
Perfect local coffee shop. Great prices, good quality coffee and home baked pastries and breads. Technically in the same parking lot as a Starbucks. No reason to not go here for your coffee. Especially because Starbucks supports Gen0**de
I never write reviews, but Clairemont Coffee is so great, I had to! The biggest differentiator between this and other popular coffee shops is this one lacks any pretentiousness, whatsoever. You can roll your tired mom self in wearing stretched out joggers and a drooled-on sweatshirt and no one bats an eye. No matter who is working up front, they’re always refreshingly nice and upbeat. The patron demographics are my kind of people - unique, nice, seemingly down to earth, cool but not “I know I’m cool”. It has a local feel, not your cookie-cutter trendy chain. Showcases local art and LOVE that they hand out coloring sheets and crayons to kids. Also, stand-out açaí bowl! We continuously drive the extra 5 minutes to come to CC vs. other options near us. Keep it up!
I don't understand how people still go to "Starsucks"... This place is Awesome! Great service with great products and affordable prices!
