Diverse menu! There will be something for everyone to eat here, and it's not expensive! We ordered both a "red" pizza and a "white" pizza, which were fresh and tasty. The brussel sprouts were good, along with the dumplings and the beet salad. The service was very good. The owners got a full liquor license for the restaurant, which is great. Nice outdoor area and there are two TV monitors at the bar to watch sports. The owner did a full upgrade of the building inside and out, and it's not pretentious or uppity. This is a wonderful addition to Bird Rock!
I love their food! I dream of their meatballs, Margherita pizza, and well, basically everything I've ever eaten here. Definitely a great new joint and so much love (not to mention high quality ingredients) has been put into each dish!
I am not really a pizza person but Wheat and Water was wonderful! The crust is very delicious and everything was well seasoned. The service was nice and the restaurant is a great spot to watch any game night with TVs on most walls. The buffalo wings were super crispy and enough spice to make your nose run and still delicious! The drinks were too dry for our taste but at least you get your moneys worth in alcohol. The mozzarella cheese on our margarita pizza was not melted which made it tough and over powered to pizza. Overall though we will be coming back.
We LOVE Wheat & Water! The pizza is one of a kind and super authentic. The staff that waited on us, Rebecca & Peyton both made our experience fantastic. They are kind and very experienced! We highly recommend coming here for a local and delicious experience in San Diego! We can’t wait to come back with our friends!
I had reserved a table for outside dining at 6:30pm (perfect for that cool late spring evening). The patio was nice with high-top table stools that gives you a view of the main drag. Note: watch out for the table splinters catching your clothing There is an extensive beers on tap list and pretty good list of wines by the glass (although pricey compared to other places). The pizzas were well-prepared and the combos were compelling.
Great environment. Both times I've been here the wait staff has been attentive. Their veggie pizza is a solid 9.1/10 (one bite everyone knows the rules). But seriously, the pizza is really good! Pricey but a good spot for special occasions or to get a drink.
We decided to try this place, as we were in the area and looking for a beverage and a bite. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, and the service was good.
Menus are still QR code-only, which is meh. We went with an order of Brussels sprouts, which were acceptably tasty, but honestly, among the oiliest I’ve ever had. I don’t feel that the prices match the quality of the food. A side of French fries is $12!
If you’re in the area, I’d recommend, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.
Great spot for a quick bite in a super convenient location. Service was amazing and my Italian sub was delicious. Generous portions and reasonable prices. The craft beer menu also had some great picks on it.
Great bar at the end of bird rock right before Windansea. Cocktails are on point and pizzas are great. Great atmosphere. Dog friendly patio too!
My wife and I LOVE this place, the pizza is pretty darn good for west coast pizza ;) and the staff is always super chill. Great place to grab a brew and catch a baseball game or sip wine and enjoy a sunset on the patio.
Great pizza and beer selection, it's right next door to work in lajolla but it's definitely bird rock. Can't wait to come back!
Had the fabulous opportunity to meet up with colleagues and celebrate a bday with them! Wheat & Water has just the greatest atmosphere, kind staff and such delicious food that the good times were flowing! Great location in Birdrock on La Jolla Blvd. super close to the beach and in the heart of everything Birdrock has to offer. Such awesome indoor/outdoor seating as well. It’s a must try!
