Always good!. I've had lunch buffet at Osaka quite a few times in the past year. As the review title says, it's always been good. I recommend going early for lunch buffet. The restaurant opens at 10:30. The crew will probably still be putting the food out, but it's very fresh and delicious as it first comes out. I also recommend having your hibachi plate first, if you're having hibachi, and then going through the buffet. If you go through the buffet first, you'll be too full for hibachi! It's not a large buffet, but the quality is excellent. It might be the best Oriental buffet in Knoxville. It certainly is among the places I've been.
And Osaka has very nice, updated, attractive restrooms, too- a big plus! (Compare Osaka to Makino!! Oh my gosh.) There is something about nice restrooms that speaks volumes about the quality of the restaurant. The restrooms are actually nicer than the dining area furnishings.

Very good. Osaka is very good. Great hibachi, great food choices, nice people. No complaints from me! And at $5.95 for lunch buffet, hard to beat!
Delicious!. Osaka is such a wonderful place to eat. The food is always hot and the service is always great. They really appreciate their customers! Also, they give lots of good coupons!
Yummy. My family really love this place we eat here every pay day. We have been there up to 4 times in a week. My daughter and myself love the sushi, my husband Loves the habatchi grill. We just love every thing. We went here when it was another name and thought why not try the new place out 4 months ago. Now we will not go any place else well worth the price. Use coupons from Kroger reciept or from online.
Very good. The all you can eat sushi is well worth the price. It was real sushi and not rice squares with a shimp on top like other buffets. Great place.

The design-your-own hibachi.... PROS: What sets Osaka APART from every other identical buffet is their "design-your-own" hibachi grill. It is great: you choose your favorite fresh raw ingredients and hand them over to the chef and watch him prepare a quick custom stir-fry right in front of you! It's included in the buffet price and absolutely the best part of the buffet! Go for the shrimp or chicken (and extra sauces for moisture and flavor), but avoid the very tough beef. OGSB is definitely worth navigating the bridge detour. Online coupons too!
CONS: What makes Osaka IDENTICAL to virtually every other Chinese restaurant on Earth is their multiple misspellings and odd grammar printed on their menu, printed on their online coupons, even printed in the name of their OWN business (the word "buffett" above as of 5/17/11). Oddly enough, the country that gave us astronomy, gunpowder, hydraulics, toilet paper, bells, the compass, noodles, warfare, toothbrushes, music theory, coffins, knives and forks (before chopsticks!), fireworks, kites, negative numbers, porcelain, rudders, and (ironically) bookbinding and movable typesetting... has no word for "proofread." But that's a small price to pay for such tasty hibachi, if you ask me...
Exceeded expectations. Took my daughter for dinner and were impressed with the decor, cleanliness of the facilities, and the appearance and quality of the food. She ate three servings of sushi and found nothing she disliked. I sampled the hibachi buffet which was excellent. The food was fresh, and the sushi was kept on ice and cold. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive as well. We will definitely be returning to eat there again.

Best Buffet in town Plus Extras!. Osaka Grill in South Knoxville is worth fighting the detour to get there. Once inside you will be amazed at the transformation that has occured to this restaurant. It is all new , clean, bright, and full of attentive staff. The hot buffet contains a wide range of traditional items both fried and stir fried. but the real surprises take some looking to find. Stuffed mushrooms, frog legs, sauteed clams still in the shell, oysters on the half shell (on weekends), also pizza and beef pie for kids. As if all that were somehow not enough there is a pick your own ingredients hibachi. You walk past an enclosed cooler and select from chicken, shrimp, beef and a selection of peppers and other veggies plus rice or lomein noodles. Then you hand it all over to the chef and choose how you want it prepared - Hibachi, Teryaki, Mongolian, Ginger.
Last but maybe not least there is a display of sushi at the end on the hibachi bar with three or four different selections. I am not a big fan of sushi but my friend tells me it is very good. Of course you need desert after all that food so there is a desert bar with about six different flavors of Purity ice cream plus mini sized chocolate eclairs, cookies and several other items including an excellent chinese fried donut rolled in sugar.
It is all you can eat and for lunch it costs $6.99 plus beverage. Weekend Dinner will cost you $10.99 plus berverage. Childrens prices range from around four to six dollars dpending on age.
I have eaten there three times so far and every time it has been fresh and well prepared.
Pretty good buffet. Hibachi grill and sushi bar are included. Most of the food was hot and fresher than I expected, but the honey chicken had obviously been sitting out awhile. Overall I was pleased, I’ll definitely be back.
Great for a quick bite with a friend or picky children. Staff is quite friendly and understanding of young children. Was nice to enjoy an evening out with another family. Seating was immediately available for a party of seven on a Sunday evening.
Great place for solo dining. They have a good selection of food, and some healthy options in the mix. The staff are always helpful and I have found (after 4-5 times of going there) that the food seems mostly to be always fresh.
