It's old but in a rustic farmers market way. This is one of those almost extinct Mom-and-Pop restaurants with real southern cooking. Places like 'Max & Erma's' and 'Cracker Barrell' try to mimic these bygone dishes all the time. You want a place where the owners will get to know you personally, there's live music on weekends & local goods? This is your place. You can't appreciate small-town southern hospitality? Find a bigger city.
Good except Styro. It was Good. Had country fried steak. It Was Good and fresh. Sweet potatoes were good. Gravy tasted canned. You Eat off of styro so thumbs down for that.
Rather old & somewhat decrepit surroundings, but it is a nursery as well as a restaurant! Somewhat lackluster service, but oh my, the food is exceptional. Limited choices, but everything is just plain yummy! Some of the best fried green tomatoes in Knoxville. Would definitely recommend.
The food is southern comfort, love the fried chicken, and sides are hearty like the cheesy broccoli casserole, fried okra...fried green tomatoes are a treat...most of the staff are friendly but one of the servers has a bit of unfriendly airs about her..but that doesnt deter me from getting great food to go!
Really lovely staff and delicious food (portions big enough for lunch and dinner tonight!) — everyone was so sweet with our 16 month old and he LOVED the Mac and Cheese and cole slaw. We will back very soon and we will bring the grandparents, too!
A great place to eat. The catfish is the best I have ever eaten and they serve hefty amounts of side dishes. It was my first time there but it will certainly not be the last! I want to try everything on the menu!
This place is awesome ate here this morning I loved everything but the biscuit was cold maybe weird but I do know a lot about cooking I have been all over and I truly love this place offer to heat the cheddar biscuit
Very good! If you like home cooking you really need to check this place out. You can really tell the food is made fresh daily. Very friendly staff. This was my first visit but I will definitely be coming back for more. This will be one of my regular lunch spots from now on. I had the baked spaghetti and it was good. Feels like one of those places that only locals know about.
The wait staff are all pleasant and the food is great. The chicken fried chicken mash potatoes and okra are a must.
