Great place, Good Food.. Family owned Irish Pub makes their guests feel welcome.
I remember going here with my father back in the '60s after skiing, and it hasn't changed at all.
My wife and I typically visit on a Friday or Saturday night, either by ourselves, or almost always when we have guests who have never been to McGrath's.
Everyone enjoys the live Irish bar songs/ballads that are offered by the different groups/individuals that play each weekend. Coming from all over New England and New York, there is different entertainment each weekend.
Set in a very comfortable setting, the Inn at Long Trail, there is a selection of microbrews in addition to the Guinness, Harp, and Smithwicks.
The "pub food" is more than just ordinary. The Sheppard's Pie, Reubens, Stuffed Potatoes, Corned Beef & Cabbage, pastas, etc. are all very good.
Enjoy!
Oh my gosh, their food is delicious! We ordered the Brunswick stew and shepherd's pie. Both were fantastic. The Brunswick stew was just what I wanted on a cold evening. The décor was fun and the bartender was kind. I would certainly visit again.
Lovely spot! Great Irish pub, vibe, service, and delicious food. I wasn't sure it would be, but was so happy we went there for lunch. Definitely make this your lunch or dinner spot. You will not regret it!😋🤤
Seamus, better known as Bob was bartender and server extraordinaire. Great food, well poured Guinness and friendly atmosphere.
Wow, after hiking for so many days it would be easy to rate any restaurant as 5 stars. But, I’m confident McGrath’s is five stars for hiker or non- hiker. The stew was meaty and delicious. The apple crisp was homemade fresh out of this world delicious. I love this place.
McGrath's Irish Pub is a diamond in the rough. When you walk in the door, you are always greeted with a hello and a smile. The building is truly unique. It is built onto the rocks or rather over the rocks that make up the ridge behind it. Bob the bartender always greats you with an open hand and a friendly hello. They have excellent Irish fare. On a cold winter day, a bowl or cup of the Guinness stew hits the spot along with a few pints of Guinness on the side. Bob always puts a shamrock on top of the pour. Service is always fast and friendly. We make it a regular stop. Cheers!
Good ole days old fashioned experience. Great service, delicious home made foods. Traditional Irish flowing drink.
Absolutely delicious food. A heavenly stop for a thru hiker. Truly authentic experience, live music on the weekends. Do yourself a favor and stop here. Will be back whenever I'm around this area of Vermont. Thank you McGrath family for the experience!
