I rolled into Key West at 10 pm, looking for a hotel near the courthouse. The fellow l caught was locking up and getting ready to go home. He graciously reopened, and got me a key and two free drink cards. The room was small but well appointed. The A/C had the room at the perfect temp. The bathroom contained, among other things, two luxurious bathrobes. The room overlooked a beautifully landscaped pool. The rate included breakfast the next morning which consisted of various bread/roll items, some cold cereals, and a large bowl of freshly cut fruits. The staff, from front desk to domestic engineers was extremely friendly and eager to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Whenever l am in Key West l will endeavor to stay at the Orchid Key motel.
4th time to Key West and 4th time at the Orchid Key Inn, no reason to try anywhere else. So many things we love: the personal & super friendly staff (who’ve been here for the 6+ years we’ve been coming), the pool and hot tub are great spots to lounge, with fresh fruit-infused water all day and the Orchid Bar just steps away. Tried the key lime pie martini (with caramel & crushed graham cracker rim) for the first time this trip- yummy! Perfect location on the quieter end of Duval means easy walks everywhere with the tranquility of the property (the waterfall next to the hot tub drowns out the street noise from Duval & adds to the relaxed vibe here) Generous continental breakfast poolside means no need to leave when you wake up. The rooms are modern, very big showers and the beds & pillows are heavenly. Chocolates on the pillows in the evening are fun to come back to. We’ll be back again of course!
