Cool place, unique. Not sure what type of sex y'all having though lol not that great. Love the taste on what I tried. Liked that the owners did it themselves with no formal training. Very impressive. Make sure you don't come thinking it is a dinner place. Eat first, as there is no regular food here. Otherwise youll order multiple deserts and eat it all like me 😊
What a unique idea, a restaurant that focuses on sensual gourmet deserts. Plus the name "Better Than Sex". You know I had to check out this place while on Key West.
There are a small number of tables and a demand for this little gem. Though we were able to walk in and wait (45 minutes) to get a table, I recommend reservations be made. They have a nice wait system where they text you when your table is available, so you can walk Duval (block away) as you wait.
We sat in the Nook dining room, which included a short narrated kitchen walk through tour. The Nook reminded me of a monochrome Victoria Secrets - clean, upscale and SEXY.
We started with drinks. We each had "Gyration"s - chocolate stout served in a glass rimed with chocolate. The chocolate rim definitely brought out the chocolate in the stout and added a creaminess not customary in beer, but very enjoyable. Very Good.
My partner had the "Tongue Bath Truffle" - two dense, rich chocolate tort wedges, served with raspberry sherbet and garnished with a white & milk chocolate ribbon. Raspberry and chocolate has always been one of my favorite combinations and this was not a disappoint. Though dense, the tort melted in my mouth and when combined with the sherbet was the perfect balance of flavor and texture: sweet vs. tart; dense vs. smooth. We both agreed it was great.
I enjoyed the "The Morning After" - buttery French toast meets grilled cheese (Brie) meets chocolate and berries, dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon, served with a small strawberry champagne soup for dipping. Consuming it was even more indulgent than it sounds. It can best be described as near to a religious experience!
The food here is great and atmosphere fun. This place is hyper romantic, so I f you can't get your grove on after dining here, it's on you!
Great place to experience decadent and sinful dessert. Perfect for birthday blowout or a romantic date. Outstanding key lime pie. Definitely try the chocolate dipped wine glasses!
A must try if you are in Key West and are looking for something out of the ordinary. My favorite dessert that I tried was the peanut perversion.
Excellent time, everything from service to drinks to dessert was flawless and delicious. We will definitely be back and recommend to all we know.
Fun place. Reservations a must. Drinks are sweet and unique. Caramel used to dip the glasses is super yummy. Good variety of desserts. Good flavor. Service is good.
My family and I went to this dessert spot, yes I know and yes my parents did make plenty of jokes. We really enjoyed it and it was friendly for older kids and adults (we range from 19 years old to 50+). The desserts we enjoyed were the fever, tongue bath truffle, twist and stout, banana bazooka, and the blueberry birthday suit. All were excellent, but not mind blowing in the sense that I would make a special trip to go back. There are a wide variety of options for drinks and desserts that will match anyone's dessert personality. The strawberry champagne soup that came with the blueberry birthday suit was a stand out and we shared a cream soda which was also really delicious! The restaurant does have a darker, date-like environment if you're looking for a private experience. The service was FANTASTIC! My gosh, these people are friendly. I highly recommend giving this place a visit if you're in town for the lovely staff and the fun novelty.
So good! I got the Better Than Sex (chocolate bread pudding) and it blew my mind. Boyfriend got the chocolate grilled cheese and it was excellent as well. The Cream in My Coffee was good. The chocolate around the rim was a little weird at first, but good.
I would definitely recommend getting a reservation to avoid a wait.
Does it live up to its name? Well, no... But it serves excellent desserts and it has a cute theme. Eat light before you go. This is incredibly decadent. The menu is completely overwhelming with endless options and combinations. The staff is fun. It is owned by a husband and wife team, with no formal culinary training.... but they do a superb job.
A great reason to skip dinner. The Irish Cream is really good. The grilled cheese with chocolate was really good. We also tried the chocolate chip which was also worth the trip.
This was my first time at this restaurant and I can honesty say it was amazing! Visiting from DC on our honeymoon and we decided we would come to this restaurant because of its interesting yet questionable design from the outside. The host and staff were very kind and friendly and personable! Nobody knew it was our honeymoon other than our waiter and when we were leaving the host wished us a happy honeymoon and it was just very sweet that everyone knew and were so kind about it. The deserts very to die for! The atmosphere was romantic and relaxed! I highly recommend this place :)
This was our fourth trip to Key West where we walked by the dark windows of this dessert bar and thought: “I wonder what it’s like inside.” So glad we made reservations to check it out because this will now be a must-do on future trips. Romantic, charming atmosphere, innuendo-laden menu descriptions, and truly delicious desserts and drinks. Perfect for a date night!
Alyways a great experience, our waitress Vivian knew her stuff and answered every question for us. There was a short black out and you barely even realized it. Desserts and drinks always great. The atmosphere is always perfect
What a fun way to spend a bit of quiet time with the one you love over a bit of drink and some fantastic desserts. My husband made the reservation, which came as a surprise to me. I’m glad he did! We enjoyed a quiet hour or so in the restaurant, which is dimly lit and appointed in black and deep red with a fabulous tin ceiling and some quite sparkly chandeliers. The interior decoration - along with the sexual innuendo that accompanies the servers’ patter and the names of the menu items - is intended to convey a sexy, sort of “naughty” vibe. It came across as bit “trying to hard to set a mood” for my personal tastes - but in the end I decided, “who cares?”You don’t go for the naughty “make a schoolgirl blush” sexy kitschiness: You go for the desserts! Spectacular! We were lucky enough to get the last four-item sampler, each piece of which we thoroughly enjoyed. We must say, however, that our hands-down favorite was the “Man Flowers” chocolate cake. Wow! So if you’re looking for a really sweet time with your sweet other half, then give it a try. You’ll have fun and some really great desserts.
Went on an anniversary date. I screwed up the reservation time and the host solved the issue and got us a table instantly. Amazing everything. The waiter Curtis was amazing. 10/10 recommend for any couples looking for a romantic place for night caps
We made reservations for my husband and I since it is very small. The decor is dark, with candles and chandeliers all over. There are erotic photographs around and also at your table. It was sexy and romantic. The only problem was a screaming child that some crazy parents brought to the place. Didn’t understand why they would bring a child to a place with nude photos of adults all over. We ordered the sampler which consisted of 4 different desserts. We also had a coffee liqueur drink with a chocolate rim and another drink called inside me. For whatever reason the waitress made sure one of the drinks didn’t have the chocolate rim on it because she took her flashlight out to make sure. The desserts were very good and so were the drinks. It’s a nice place to go, a little pricey but it’s something different and it was cool. The screaming kid killed the mood of the place.
The whole experience was fun and relaxing! The desserts were amazing and the Love Potion 69 shot was my absolute favorite! I would go back just for the shot. Such a fun time and they even recognize my birthday!
If your wondering how our 31 year Anniversary evening went, well we couldn’t decide between Caress My Carrot or with the Perfect Partner. My husband wanted to try the Berry Bondage but I preferred to have between my red velvet sheets.
We ended up having The Fourgasm Special! 😅 Yeah it was amazing!!
The experience didn’t quite meet the hype. Although I’m glad we went as the DESSERT was so delicious! Definitely need reservations! It was a nice addition to our anniversary celebration. Our server seemed quite bored with everything he was explaining. However the gentleman that seated us and brought us our food was super friendly and very informative. I had the Man Flower so decadent and beyond scrumptious! My husband had the Apple missionary crisp and his was so sweet and tangy! I also ordered a 69 shot which was the amoretto, went down very smoothly!! I asked them to hold the cream as they cake had enough sweetness ☺️.
So overall recommend for the amazing dessert but as for ….the experience it’s nothing more than just a dessert restaurant but it’s worth the calories so come hungry!
Second time at this location! The first time I went with a friend and now I took my boyfriend. I have never had a dessert here that disappointed me. You can’t go wrong with all of the rimmed glass whether it beer or wine! I had the shots for the first time and I loved the coffee one. I suggested this dessert restaurant who wants a fun different experience in Key West.
