A gem!!!! The whole experience is awesome. From the set up of the space, to the great music, to the knowledgeable bartenders. Every city needs a place like the Green Lady Lounge. Be ready to relax, sip on some alcoholic beverages, listen to top notch musicians and enjoy your time here.
Jazzy, Dark, Moody. We Loved It! Might just be the best jazz bar in KC! Got there around 8pm Saturday night and paid a cover of $5 each cash only. Amazing though a bit pricey cocktails, it was worth it to enjoy the jams for a few hours! I love jazz even more now.
The service was good. The waitresses were attentive and came to check on us often. Also, I didn't like one of the drinks as the espresso taste was too much for me. The waitress offered cream to make it help. I loved that she knew the menu well enough to offer that solution and made other suggestions as well. The jazz music and vibe were pretty good, too.
Ambiance!!!! It was like stepping into a movie set of what you would imagine as a jazz club. Live music, low lighting, lots of seating, and good drinks. The band was great, drinks were delicious, and reasonably priced. Only had one thing to eat which was the boozy cake. It was a lil dry...but you could taste the booze so I guess it did it's job hahahaha. Def worth a visit ❤️
First off the atmosphere is incredible. It's dimly lit and has ornate decorations with a beautiful dark red theme. The staff is very personal and provides great recommendations from their drink menu. The cocktail list is thorough and has something everyone would enjoy, I recommend the pomegranate martini and the moscow mule. The live band is such a fun experience that adds to the atmosphere and is excellent as background music or a performance to watch. Overall an amazing place that's perfect for a date night or drinks with friends.
Great atmosphere and opportunity to hear authentic, live Kansas City jazz. Saturdays from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. listen to the Rod Fleeman Trio and hear Rod, (Guitar,) Ray DeMarche (drums) and Gerald Spaites (bass) play original numbers. Other groups all night long.
Everyone was telling me I had to check this place out, and I'm glad they did! You're greeted by a bouncer in a suit, then you enter an upholstered door on the right hand side. The moment you walk in you'll notice the dim lighting with the lighting focused on the band.
I didn’t even know they offer food here but the drinks and live music are always on point. Supporting local talented musicians is a great way to spend the evening. Great spot for a date night or out with friends though not quiet if trying to converse. A good, lively time. No dance floor. Low mood lighting.
A great spot with fantastic music and $5 cover charge at the door.
The place was packed all night and the music jazz was fantastic. The drinks were pretty good, their specialty cocktails are nice.
My whiskey sour seemed mostly like lemon juice and sugar, but one of the bar tenders was plenty kind enough to remake the drink. The second was better but still not quite what I wanted (tbh, I think it's partially because I pour a tad heavier at home, can't blame them for that).
Table service became pretty scarce as the night went on, but that's because you couldn't really push through a crowd to provide service. All of the staff were kind and attentive though, just a busy night.
Last comment is the food menu, or lack thereof. Their kitchen seems to consist of a fridge with ready to serve snacks/dessert.
We were hoping for a little something more to fill our stomachs, guess we know for next time to make this the second stop of the night.
We forgot to take pictures. Been here several times.
Great atmosphere. Dark and stormy. Brilliantly lit. Enchanting live music. Fantastic drinks. Everything a jazz bar should be. A true jewel in KC.
Wish there were a place like this in every town. Simply devine.
