We've been meaning to eat here for years!! We were finally brought here for a birthday party. Boy, are we kicking ourselves! We enjoyed the oxtail & cannot wait to work our way thru the rest of the menu. Service was friendly and fast, prices very reasonable and food was outstanding. We will be back very soon.
Tha food was great!!! I and my wife loved it. I recommend!!!!
Very Good Jamaican Food!!!. Great food! Great service! I think hole in the wall places have the best food and this was amazing. Oxtails are hard to find and even harder to make. Fantastic all around. Love the Coco bread!! Great place to eat!
AMAZING!! I drive an hour and some every month to make a trip to just eat a G's. Love all his meals--from brown stew chicken to oxtail; everything is top-notch.
My favorite item here was their Jerk Chicken. Be aware that this is more of a take-out place than a dine-in one, everyone but us took their orders to go.
Fantastic Find. Ate lunch at G's today. Can't believe we haven't been there before. The Jerk Chicken was moist, tender, and full of amazing flavor. A full review will come later, but this is a place that anyone who likes Caribbean food should try sooner rather than later.
This is some great food!!!. Seriously, dirty rice and jerk chicken that will knock your socks off!!! Go Now!!
Update-Second visit, Meat pie-different-it was ok but I don't need another. Curried Goat-That is some GREAT stuff, red beans and rice and cabbage-seriously great food!! Hot-Very Hot-if you can handle heat, you have got to try G's!
Irie, irie. G's Jamaican Cuisine serves up some delicious food. As Kev L. said, the patties (meat pies) are awesome...well, patties are awesome in general is what I mean, and G's has them. When I went to Jamaica I had patties every day for lunch at Sofia's roadside stand. Let me get back on track; G's also serves up some of the best curried goat. The meat is tender and wonderful. I swear, I can't believe more American's don't eat goat. It is delicious. One more thing, the hospitality at G's is generally great. It is a fun place to go
The jerk chicken was good enough to make me want to try it again. I plan on going back with some friends this time on a Saturday around noon, eating there and sampling some of the other sides. If you decide to go here, know that there are only three tables to sit at and a bar with about five stools. I think my buddies and I will have fun sitting at the bar, drinking a Red Stripe and sampling as many different options as possible. If we can't go to Jamaica, we can bring a little bit of Jamaica to us.
When I first announced to my family that I wanted to eat at G’s Jamaican Cuisine, they asked me what they served there, I told them Curried Goat. They gave me that “stank face” you get when someone smells something very unpleasant, needless to say, we didn’t go. That was a little over two years ago now. I brought it up again and they had forgotten about the goat meat, so they were game to give the place a try. I first tried goat by accident. We had spent the morning climbing up and sliding down Dunn’s River Falls, it was now mid-day and our taxi driver had taken us back down the mountain into Ocho Rios to the Market because the Gals wanted to shop. A couple of us were hungry so we walked over to a guy on the street who was cooking some sort of unrecognizable meat on wooden stakes over coals in an oil barrel that had been cut in two. It smelled amazingly delicious, so we each ordered one. We were standing there, holding the stakes, busily gnawing the meat off the bone like
G's Jamaican Quisine is always my first stop when visiting KC. I've been eating there since 2016. In fact, I've eaten there twice on the same trip while in KC on multiple occasions. If you are looking for authentic and traditional Jamaican food, look no further than G's. The sweet, sweet reggae music is always oozing from the sound system like it does in Jamaican yards of the island. Service time is with minimal wait. On this trip, I ordered Curry Goat, Peas Rice, and Cabbage with a side of Plantains. My drink was Ginger Pineapple Juice. The goat was meaty and curried to perfection. It was juicy and moderately spicy. The rice was dutty like I like it 😁 and the cabbage was fresh and textured between tender and crisp. The Plantains were a bit soggy (I prefer them crisp). The juice was pure with no additives and had that kick that I was anticipated. Give them a try, and you'll probably find your way back.
Well best place I’ve ever gotten for jamacian food . So far my favorite place to eat and I’m a very picky eater and I don’t usually do food reviews but they do deserve my review. They only had one couple and whole restaurant isn’t has busy. All and all FOOD IS BUSSIN ❤️ and service is okay. But I do plan on coming here and bring my family to have a good time. Love the music vibes, love how the place reminds me of being back at home. If felt like I was dinning in an island restaurant in Guam. Highly recommend for those who misses home for islanders who are far away 🇬🇺🇫🇲 even customers who want to feel a different experience. OXTAILS AND BEAN AND RICE 🙌
If you’re not eating at G’s Jamaican Quisine you’re missing out. Every meat dish is literally falling off the bone and so flavorful. From the curry chicken and ox tails to the brown stew chicken. Every dish was cooked to perfection. The red beans and rice will be my kryptonite and the ox tails… well they’re indescribable. Everyone behind the counter was so welcoming and kind. Not only will I be back, I’ll be making regular appearances.
Quality resturaurant with great food. I got the Jerk Chicken and the portions were awesome. I will be back.
2 years later, G's is still amazing. If you want some of the best Jamaican food in KC, this is it.
Amazing flavor and spice! Red beans and rice were perfect.
Had jerk chicken and oxtail. So good! Chicken wings might be the best in the city. Big and juicy, perfect spice.
BEST Coco bread... ALWAYS warm!!! Friendly people! Never been to Jamaica, but definitely feel the vibe in this place. Love the oxtails, jerk & Curry. My son is a big fan of the brown stew fish.
Amazing! I’ve been coming here for years, since 2015. The jerk chicken is my favorite here. Great food + kind and considerate staff. You’ll leave fully satisfied. 🤗
Don't let the look fool you. Food taste amazing and a lots of food to eat . We order take out , oxtail, goat curry , jerk chicken, fry pan banana all good . I definitely come back for more
Food was amazing. I had chicken wings, beef patty and pepper steak... All of the food was Fire. I live in Topeka wish there was a G's in My town
