This place is truly superb. I am pretty picky and choose this place anytime the word "Mexican" comes up in food conversations. It is not your typical Tex-Mex place.
The Chile en Nogada in a crazy mixture of items I never would have put in the same dish but it is perfect. Get the Queso Fundido dip for an appetizer. My wife is a big fan of the Street Tacos.
The service is always excellent. Our waiter, Fernando, had us all laughing the last time we were there.
Dined at Cacao for the 2nd time this week and found it awesome again. The fresh and unique food combined with excellent service makes for a great place for a Mexican treat.
Legit best taco I've ever had.
I normally hate cilantro and onion but got the chicken as-is anyways- Best. Decision. Ever.
10/10 recommend.

Edit 2: brought friends back for a second try and got the taco pack. 14 tacos for $35. Got Birria and Chicken (no pineapple)- added photos :) so good!!
Los Tacos are so good! La Quesadilla de Pollo also really good. What I love the most is the service and the big side dish or cilantro, onions and caldo de Berria. Their table red and green salsa is the perfect spicy and flavor. Definitely recommend for your next taco craving! ** check them out they are right next to Kansas City Comedy Club
Authentic Mexican food 🇲🇽 🙏🏽 it is so refreshing finding a restaurant that cares about how their food taste. It’s obvious that food quality and taste are a top priority by how good the food is. We legitimately got up and ordered 3 separate times bc we couldn’t get enough.
You do have to walk up and order, I was not expecting that. When we walked in (first time visiting) some customers stared at us like why are you waiting for someone to come seat you. Maybe it was lack of research on this business on our end.
The house margarita was delicious and generous with alcohol. I would highly recommend any tacos, especially the Birria! Will come back and spend tons of money 🤑
Restaurant clean. Service great. I can't have cilantro, which is in their salsa, and manager fixed my meal without and added chopped tomatoes at my request. I ordered nachos which was not on their menu, but again the manager provided it. Chips were chrispy and tasty. Beef had a spice which was not a favorite, but overall the meal was good. Recommend you give it a try.
AMAZING Monday Night Dinner
After not wanting to get anywhere near the kitchen we venture to try a new place. Cacao was it, we always see it when grocery shopping and it always looks packed.
And now I see why! Delicious Queso con Chorizo and God! That can be a meal, the mix match of Street Tacos of Cochinita and Puerco en Chile Verde was amazing! And it came with this green long grain rice that was just perfect! The quesadilla was an amazing flat burrito!
Portions are Grand! Place is Health department ready, spotless Clean! And Ana, our server and owner’s daughter had this place handled like a Pro!
Complementary salsa could use some work, but hey I am native Mexican so, if all other items were Flawless! That’s the least of my worries!

This place is great if you want authentic mexican tacos. The birria tacos are delicious and full of flavor. It's a la carte so be mindful of what you get, It can be a bit pricey. They do have specials on Tuesday so keep that in mind. The workers are great too, real down to earth.
I great modern take of traditional food plus the drinks were amazing. Medium price that is worth it with the food have great portions and a clean friendly place. I was in mood for traditional so I just got some street tacos that were delicious! With a drink of course Sangerita which is half and half of there housemade sangria and house made maragarita. We came to celebrate my dads birthday as he loves Mexican food when he say the poblana soup on there he got so excited first time he has had it since collage. I’m differently coming back especially to try there happy hour looks really good plus cheap drinks.
I didn't realize that this place had turned into a fast food restaurant. Please update your website to reflect your current status because it's misleading. Outside of that....food is good, ambience was good, margaritas on point. Nice staff. I'm sure I'll be back for taco Tuesday.
First time. Over 90% of the menu is gluten free. Delicious and creative dishes. This is worth trying. The special on this visit, Chile Enogada, was great. A large Chile pepper stuffed with ground beef, walnuts, apples, almond slivers and topped with a walnut cream sauce and pomegranate seeds would be welcome at my Thanksgiving table.
Service was great and fast. Food was really good. Ordered the cheese dip which was phenomenal and a little spicy. The chicken chipotle enchiladas tasted authentic and were good, but they were a little slim on the meat.
Note: everything I had had spice to it, including the cheese dip. I loved it but if you’re not a spicy person you might want to ask.
Will definitely be back.
