My first experience with Jonny Joe’s wasn’t even pizza related. I was out for a jog and I stopped in to see if they had a cup so I could grab some water at the park down the street. No cups, but the man behind the counter insisted I take a bottle of water. That’s was so nice of him. What a class act.
Now let’s talk about the pizza. It’s amazing. The best NY style pizza in the city. The crust is crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Perfection. And literally holy cannoli. Two words: Oreo filling. And dipped and chocolate. This is the place to satisfy your savory and sweet tooth. You’ve gotta check it out!
First time in tonight and was amazing! Great food, friendly staff and very original. Very Cool "hole in the wall" pizza place. Definitely worth your time!
Try this pizza! Please! They are opened at limited hours right now but it is worth the wait. And their pizzas are huge! Pepperoni the size of my palm. I'm hungry just thinking about it. Going back again ASAP

El Padrino: Jalapeño, Habanero Cheese, Chorizo, Pepperoni, Cholula, Siracha,. Unfortunately discontinued! But they do something similar called El Diablo and it's BUY THE SLICE only on Saturdays!
Super Good!. I stopped in for lunch yesterday and was amazed to find they had 4 pizza on display, after reading some other reviews I was prepping myself for 1 or 2. The smell going in was that of warm baked crust with a hint of garlic, mouth already watering! I ended up with the combo pizza slice for $3.50 and a half order of garlic knots (7 for $2) it was perfect! The Crust was Crisp on the outside, no limpy pizza here! And the flavors were balanced to perfection! On to the knots, they were good, buttery & with a hint of garlic and Parmesan. Pizza 51 used to be my favorite lunch spot, but for the value and taste, I will happily make the 1 mile extra drive here next time!
PS Yes they reheat they're food, most places do (like Pizza 51) how else are they going to heat up your pizza quickly? It's better than waiting 20 minutes for a slice! Perspective people!

The Best Pizza in Kansas City. I just had this amazing pizza for the first time. As another reviewer stated the crust is both chewy and crispy, maybe the best I have ever had. The toppings, the sauce and the cheese were perfect as well. It is excellent!
Wonderful food and atmosphere... Enjoyed the food and enjoyed listening to the owner share his passion for recreating a family recipe and determination in opening up his own pizza place! Next time we visit we will definitely be coming back! Thanks Johnny for a wonderful dining experience!
I decided to give this place a try the other day and I am really glad I did. Probably the best stromboli I have had and can't wait to try the pizza. As stated on other reviews the customer service and quality are top notch.
Tremendous NY-style pizza. Thin crust, good cheese coverage, nice sweet sauce (not a lot of oregano, if you are into that kind of thing). Owner is an artist when it comes to the pie and customer service; if he ain't there ain't no pizza.
Great pizza!. Great pizza by the slice or as a whole pie. friendly service as well. i would definitely recommend this walk-in spot to anyone. the dough and sauce are made in house and the ingredients are always fresh. in a city full of good pizza this place stands out.
Great place near the plaza to get a slice, pie, or sandwich to go. Plan ahead. Only two parking spots and 15 minute wait time for most items other than slices. So it is kind of a drop off someone, order and circle the block deal if you don't call ahead. No inside dining seating and a steep hill if you try and walk it. Also they close for the mid-afternoon. But still a great bite!
Found this small pizzeria when I was craving pizza. Love their pizza! Fresh ingredients. Their pizzas are thin and deliciously fulfilling. Love their toppings. My BF and I both agree best pizzas in the area.
One time I did an online order for takout and wouldn't be able to get there before they close, but the girl staff I spoke with said she'll stay there until I get there. She even asked me what my estimated arrival time would be so she can keep my pizza heated until I arrive. I really appreciated the accommodation.
This place was a complete surprise to me. I’ve worked in the area for over two years and I can’t believe I haven’t tried it sooner. It’s a little hole in the wall, parking is difficult, there’s no dining area, and they’re not fast - but wow was it worth it. Oh I have tried the Sicilian Stromboli along with the original, and they are both amazing. The crust has a nice crunch with a chewy center. Nice and yeasty. They are generous with the toppings and you get their homemade sauce on the side. Go get some!
What a great pizza. Had the Marco Polo which was full of fresh ingredients, tasty red sauce and beautiful crust which is crispy and cooked to perfection. And the cannoli's are unbelievably good. Ordered online for delivery and that all worked out fine...prompt, on-time and correct order delivered. This place is a gem!
Best slice of regular cheese in KC! 10/10 for the lady making the pies. She had taylor playing and was handing out friendship bracelets she'd made! Hope she has a great time seeing the concert movie! Made my day ✨️
Favorite pizza in KC. If you want an authentic NY slice - go here. I used to live in NY and this is the best we got. Grab a slice and walk around.
They were unfortunately out of most things for the week when I got there, but that must mean it’s pretty good and I gotta go back and try it again. I just got a cheese slice because that’s all they really had and it was decent. I’m excited to go back during a week day vs the end of the week so I can try more things (:
An interesting experience. No dine in, only carry out with a handful of chairs outside but no tables. Tried 3 slices — the pepperoni/sausage was outstanding and left me wanting more of the same. Flavorful toppings, cheese & sauce on a super tasty crust. The basil/mozzarella was good but not memorable. And finally, the day’s special was a 4-cheese with bacon. It was fair. Will go back & recommend giving it a try.
This is very likely my favorite pizza in KC! A NY style pizza, the garlic knots and calzone are amazing! I've also ordered pizza by the slice. It's easy to drive right past this spot, there's two parking spots in front of it, otherwise you're at the mercy of limited street parking. This is a to-go spot. I think there was one or two spots for dine-in pre-pandemic but now it's definitely to-go.
Best pizza I've ever had. Little shack on 47th. No dine in option, but a couple tables outside. Nice people, and even if they weren't, I'd still buy pies from this place because it's the best in town.
