Had a bit of a rough start with the service - our waters were brought to us without a word and it was several more minutes before our server came to the table, and several more minutes before we got our drinks. Once everything was in motion, things were smoother. The food was great and I did like our server, though he wasn't at our table much. We tried the spring rolls, egg rolls, pad Thai, panang beef, pineapple fried rice, and Thai tea, all of which was fantastic! We were advised by our server to order mild if we like medium spice, order medium if we like hot, etc. and it was right on the money. I will definitely be back!
This little hidden gem is a Diamond in the rough. I love oriental foods and this place was just right for my palate. Was looking for something different to eat other than the norm while in Kansas City on vacation. Well I asked Google to look up Vietnamese food and BAM!! Kokothai came up. Went to this restuarant looking for a good meal, and I got one!! Or two!! I ordered the Pad Thai chicken with Rice Noodles and my friend ordered the Crispy garlic Chicken. Oh My God!! This food was just WONDERFUL!! We were very satisfied and the service was great. I love this place!! Keep up the good food Guys. I'll be back!! Oh yeah...I found a Restaurant down the street from Kokothai.. The name was KOBI Q. I think I'll check them out when I come back.
The food was cooked perfectly and came out quickly, piping hot. Great service. All staff members were very friendly and helpful, guiding me to something that wouldn't burn my taste buds off (I'm super sensitive to spice) and my partner to something that would give just the right kick. The atmosphere is casual, comfortable and charming. The peanut sauce on the Panang Salmon was UNBELIEVABLE. We took the leftover sauce home to put on chicken. The spring rolls were very fresh and tasty, and again--that peanut sauce! You won't regret this spot.
I highly enjoy this place. Really yum😋. The sauces are so fantastic omg🤤. Huge portions also. Except none of the “salads” are actually salad 🥗lmao. Way less greens than you’d think a salad would actually have. But yum nonetheless. Overly attentive with the water serving but that’s ok lol. Ran out of dessert also. But still solid five stars for the food I got. So much yum.
Hidden Gem in the city! Love the atmosphere. Very laid back. Great for dinners for business or a causal dinner. The flavors are amazing combinations with sweet and spicy. Try the Boba with a smoothie.
Almost mistake on the entrance, there are 2 restaurants on the same entrance. It is not really Thai, at least Gapow (Stir fry Basil) is different, it is too sweet. Crab fried rice us the best!!!
Great portion size and the Thai tea was amazing. I had the chicken red curry that was pretty good - a bit sweeter than others but I loved it. It was a cold day and we came in at lunch time, which was a bit busy so the only seating was by the door but the staff offered that we could move once a spot opened up at one of the tables - a great gesture!
Really yummy, a little warm with the garage door open. Pretty spicy- I got medium and I usually get hot from most Thai restaurants. I got the salmon and it was yummy but I wish I would have tried the fried rice
This place is fire! The Pad Thai was 10/10, we got medium which was pretty hot....but so good. The service was good and the prices are pretty good for the amount of food you get !
Love love love this place! The people here are so friendly and the service is fast! Their pad thai with chicken is my go too and the portions are huge!
