I highly recommend and can't wait till my next visit. first class, service, and food and drinks. I also like the karaoke machine in the Tiki Bar.
The building and dining room are beautiful, the food is absolutely delicious, and the prices are good. This is officially our favorite Chinese restaurant in Jacksonville.
Try the subgum chow mein! It's amazing.
My girlfriend and I stumbled across Pagoda Chinese Restaurant when the initial place we wanted to go to was closed. The service was fantastic! We were seated immediately and tended to regularly. We started off with an order of cream cheese wontons. They were okay but very greasy. Being that we are vegetarian, we both ended up ordering veggie lomein. The lomein was delicious. Fresh crisp vegetables and good flavor. We will definitely be returning.
Good but greasy. My girlfriend, her sister an I went to pagoda Chinese last night the it has a great atmosphere an very relaxing. As for the food it was good but very greasy and hard veggies and also I was taking back by the waitress standing in front ask where was her tip other then that everything was good
Good food, what i didn't like was if you get Coke or Sprite only sodas you can get it is $1.75 for a 12oz can... : (
Great food at a great price!. We ordered delivery: mongolian beef, general tsao's chicken, and sweet and sour pork, with a side of large pork fried rice and eggrolls. The General tsao's was perfect spicyness and texture. The fried rice was some of the best I have had! It was all fresh and cooked just right. The eggrolls were not my favorite, but they were still good...not too fried. Their sweet and sour pork was definitely a "homestyle" recipe like nothing I've ever had at a chinese place - delicious!
Nice Little Discovery. At first glance, this restaurant looks like an abandoned Pagoda, but looks definitely can be deceiving. I had always passed by this place to and from work, and was always curious about the food. I love sit-in Chinese restaurants with family style dishes, so I took my hesitant fiance and gave them a try. I thought the antique Chinese decor was charming and the service was wonderful. We ordered the dinner combination (around $8), which also came with a choice of egg drop/wonton soup...so good. The best thing about our meal: We did not have feelings of regret, grogginess, or bloating afterwards. I recommend giving this place a shot...it's definitely worth it!
I love the food. I would suggest if ordering to go never add extra meat of any kind. They will charge you, but the extras are not there.
This is the second time its happened. I picked up today and checked the order while there this time. The manager was polite. Takes my food to the back and must of just talked because when he eventually came back it looked the EXACT SAME. I wasn’t going to argue about it. Went home and go thru my food and found 8 shrimp. 😂😂😂
Just order the regular if you gonna order. I should of took a pic. My husband ordered steak fried rice. I will let you be the judge if this looks like $7 worth of extra steak.
We came here 2 weeks ago for The Hidden Tiki Room and LOVED the small plate foods and the drinks were amazing (and I don’t even like rum)! So had to come back and try the food in the dinning room side. THE BEST Asian food IN JAX! We live in Oakleaf and now we will always drive there for food!!!! The server, who I believe is the owner, was THE BEST!!! We LOVED her. She sat and chatted with us while we finished our wonderful drinks after dinner! Such a sweet person! We can’t wait to go back!!!
Only took pics of my braised tofu, not my husbands chicken. Portions were sharing size!
Amazing food, atmosphere and friendliest staff. The drinks are top notch, if you can get into the Secret Tiki Temple, do it!!
Amazing! I ordered take-out food from here thinking it was like a standard American Chinese food place. There decor was unique and eclectic and charming! I thought I was getting 4 dumplings, but I got 18 dumplings! I watched other people get their food and the portions are bigger than I expected for their cheap prices! I ended up choosing to eat it there instead of carry-out. I lived in Asia teaching English for a while, and these delicious dumplings are authentic and homemade and brought back so many good memories! Thank you for a wonderful meal!
I always have the best time here. Their Pain Killer drink is a must try. Beautiful presentation on their drinks. I love the chicken fried rice! Not a place to come to get full though. Kind of miniatures of potstickers, etc. But still everything is delicious. Great service each time I’ve gone and a reservation is required. I would suggest being specific about seating in your reservation as well. I like all the seats outside of sitting at the bar.
If you are in the mood for some authentic chinese food pagoda restaurant in Baymedows will satisfy all your cravings. Place was big and had a very authentic feel. Not too fancy but the quality of the food was great. They offer a wide variety of chinese dishes including Dim Sum. We really liked the Peking duck. We will come back !
The service and staff is top notch. Management knows how to conduct business and make things better.
The Pagoda is still run by the same family after 40+ years. It is a restaurant in front and a "secret" bar in back. The private room in back is where all the 20 - 40 year old singles hang out on Baymeadows Road. Same chef in the restaurant after 40 years. He can customize anything on the menu for you. Go early if you are meeting up in the Private room. Seats and parking lot fills up fast.
We had not been hear for dinner for many years and I am sorry we waited so long. What a great experience. We were seated right away and the service was perfect. The won ton soup had a great flavor with ample won tons. They even added one extra so we each had 2. The meals came right on time, hot and just the right amount. Throughout the meal the owner stopped by to say hello and encouraged us to check out the Tiki room after the meal. Wen topped in to the newly created room and sat in the Elvis corner with appropriate mood lighting. We each tried one of their new cocktails and enjoy spending some relaxed time in a unique setting. This is a classic, old school Chinese restaurant that you have to try. Take pictures and enjoy the experience.
We made reservations days in advance. We were greeted at the door with a warm smile and friendly face. Host gave us a round down of how the time we were there would go showed us where the mens and ladies room were located and then got us seated immediately. We were on the secret tiki side. Please Google for info on that. We were sat in a lounge area with large chuck, coffee table and additional chair. It easily accommodated our party of 6. The tiki hut atmosphere was amazing. Our waitress was very polite, respectful, helpful with food and drink questions. Drinks were very good. Food comes as appetizer portions but was very filling. Would love to come visit here again
