Amazing authentic Italian restaurant, homemade dishes and excellent friendly service from the owner, very caring, helpful, attentive and accommodating.
Ensured we were happy with our food, went above and beyond. A very welcoming experience for our first time here.
Would recommend it to anyone looking for true Italian dishes in an intimate family setting.
My favorite go to dishes are stuffed shells with cream sauce and chicken alfredo but i have tried several things on menu and never been disappointed
Wonderful shrimp aioli! Great food as usual, the people even better! Don't forget try the tiramisu to die,
Try this place.
The character limit is a huge pain in the ass, screw you zomato.
I was surprised by this place for being a little space in the publix shopping center. It was a cute little family owned restaurant decorated quite nicely. I expected bland food but it actually had a nice home made flavor like something your grandma would make. It wasn't overly salty like similar chain restaurants serve..portions were good size. My only complaint was service was a little slow..especially since there were no other customers when we came in. As for the redneck comment from other the other poster..there was only older (as in 80 yrs old) customers in there when I was there.. probably about 10 or so and all older. (I'm 26 just to clarify) all dressed nicely..not a redneck in sight.
Love Matt's Italian. My boyfriend and I love Matt's Italian. The pizza is great! Pair it with the house salad which is fresh and hearty full of toppings! All of the entrees seem fresh and home made. My favorite is the chicken marsala and my boyfriend's is the veal parm. We recently tried out the lobster bisque soup and now we will never go there and not order it. Keep the great food coming Matt!! It's the best Italian around!!
Our personal favorite. My family has been eating at Matt's regularly for 15+ years, and it's our favorite place to go for an "our place" atmosphere. The salads are super crisp, the garlic bread is toasted just right, and the pizza is true Italian (just like I found in Italy.) The Stromboli is a delicious bargain. Four of us can share a large one and still have some left over. The soda's are large and the beer is really cold. Matt's is our neighborhood treasure.
So Delicious!. My husband and I were in the neighborhood traveling from Ohio. We wanted something other than fast food and we saw this little place in a shopping center and decided to try it. We were greeted with a friendly server who provided great service throughout the meal. The food was fabulous! My husband ordered a pita pasta lunch and I ordered manicotti. It arrived HOT. Rolls were warm. The food was better than my homemade Italian meals. We went back the next day for pizza. Oh my! It was so tasty and the crust was crispy on the bottom yet the dough was chewy under the cheese, sauce and topping. My husband admitted that this was better than his homemade pizza. It came HOT and all of the toppings, we ordered the Deluxe, were delicious. We would go back any time we are visiting the area. We liked this restaurant for another reason. It is family run. Their recipes probably are developed from generations of cooking. The ingredients used in food preparation were, I feel, were of high quality. The prices were very reasonable.
Awesome. I've been eating at Matt's for years. I can only speak for the pizza. It's probably the best in Jacksonville. Definitely worth a try.
I had their Chicken Alfredo and it was delicious! My friend had the Caesar Salad and loved it! Garlic bread was very good, so whoever said it wasn't, do not listen to then. I will definitely dine here again!
Family Owner & Operated is the Best. Dear Urbanspoon fan club peeps,
Matt's Italian Cuisine is phenomenal. It is owned and operated by my Uncle and his family. Restaurants have been a family business my whole life. I gravitate toward good food, good service and good people. I can't stay away. Pick Matt's for your next dining adventure. You'll be glad you did. I'm Turkish and Italian. Trust me when it comes to dining.
Sincerely,

Matt's Italian Cuisine
This is in response to the last review, I would just like to set the facts straight. I worked for this restaurant for a year and I cab honestly tell you everything there is made from scratch. Everything in the salad is fresh cut everyday, not bought from publix. They actually bake their own bread from scratch, and fresh garlic butter is added to it, not whirl. As for the the entrees, every sauce is cooked to order from scratch. no canned sauces ever. And all meats are the same way, nothing frozen, everything is prepared fresh, from SCRATCH. All of their recipes have been in their family for year and years and that restaurant has been there for almost 20 years, so cab the food really be disgusting? No, I think not. :)
Food is very good. The delivery person was quick. Ask for Carl.
Food and service was amazing! Everything from the appetizer, the main dishes and desserts was absolutely delicious! The service was exceptional ! They were very attentive and friendly. I can’t wait to go back.
The food was prepared and served quickly so not the place for a slow dinner where you want to talk. Portion sizes are substantial and food prices are reasonable. Individual pizzas or shareable sizes too.
Matt’s captures the feeling of an authentic, family-owned Italian restaurant in all the best ways. Its modest but comfortable atmosphere is perfect for enjoying real Italian cuisine. The food does not disappoint either: the pizza, pasta, and dessert taste like they truly were made from scratch and that they were created with care and love for good food. Worth every penny!
Just discovered this place and already visited four times. Every time I get something different from the menu, if it is flagged as homemade. So far everything has been delicious. My wife loves the shrimp pizza.
You know it's good when you forgot to take a picture of the food! Absolutely BEST Fettuccine Alfredo I've had in a VERY long time. The staff attended my large family after a funeral gathering with absolute perfection and class! Little hiccups on the drinks turned out to be a nice discovery to try their PIBB! Their Canolis were delicious too! All so delicious so I forgot to take pictures of the food and it's now in my belly 😅. To all looking for some REALLY good food and a nice atmosphere, I highly recommend.
I look forward to being back in town again to get me some of Matt's Italian Cuisine! 🍽🍝🍜🍕🥗
Been going here a long time. Prices are steep but worth it. Their pizza is the highlight, but the chicken and eggplant Parmesan also go hard. (Tortellini bob is also a personal favorite of mine.)
Fair warning: their salads, subs, and soups aren't really worth it. Maybe if you're in person and want some variety... But just take it from a pro, stick to pasta, pizza, and calzone/stromboli. They are very good for takeout.
We love going to Matts for 30 years. It is close to or house, never too busy, quiet, and has reasonable good basic Italian foods. Only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is because of a limited Italian menu. We often order Pizza or veal or chicken parmesan, piccata
or marsala. These are big orders served with salad, bread and pasta. Always have enough take home for another dinner. Their pizza , calzone and Stromboli crust are very good. The house wine is inexpensive and tasty. service is great. Sea food pasta and meat sauce pasta are very good. Their sauce is my favorite.
The chicken parm was good and so was the cheesy bread! We were served by Heather and she was a fantastic server. 5 out of 5 stars.
Excellent customer service
Very good pizza. There are no appetizers other than a salad or garlic bread. The pizza is worth the trip but some garlic knots or wings would be nice. The salad is pretty good.
Delicious food in a very romantic setting. Several items on the menu note that they are homemade. This means they are made from scratch in house.
