Me and my son have went there for years all the foods really good German food. And he likes to drink beer and they have all kinds of beer.
Down visiting from North Carolina and wanted to eat local. Great service, great food! If your in the area this is a must stop for good food.
Very clean, very nice atmosphere. Food is affordable and delicious! I will definitely come back if I get the chance to visit Jacksonville, FL again.
One of my fav's to go back to time and time again. Love this place because they literally have anything you could want on their menu. You can get anything from a brat or muffuletta or salad plate or pretzel and beer cheese soup. Love the items they offer on their menu as well as the cute bakery and store with all the European types of candy and such for the little people. They have a fully stocked bar with any beer you could possibly want and happy hour specials as well as a store to buy specialty beers and wine to take home with you. Have always had friendly staff and will continue to return because they really have figured out how it's done right.
Honestly one of my faves.... European Street. What can I say? I can say I've never been here and been disappointed by the food. Maybe the service if it was super busy, but that's it. I've gotten consistently good food here for more than a decade, and their vegan and gluten free options are delightful. A good place to take the whole family, especially if anyone has any weird food allergies or preferences. Mom, Dad, husband; anyone I take likes it. Two paws up.

Outstanding Food, Outstanding Service. A friend introduced me to this restaurant a while back. Sadly, shortly after I found out I am gluten intolerant. No worries, the sandwich I had here is worth EVERY ounce of the discomfort I might experience, IF they didn't also offer gluten free bread. Every time I am in Jacksonville, I make it a point to visit ESC, I can hear the Muffaletta calling my name. Highly recommend!

The first place in town that I've found multitude of raw vegan menu items! I had the raw Reuben and it was pretty tasty. Too much mustard and more like a sauerkraut sandwich, but I was truly impressed by their cashew cheese and the organic vegan berry pie slice that I got. It was pricey, but I expected as much with the novelty of organic and specially prepared fare. Excited to try some more of their raw/vegetarian items. Very creative menu - refreshing to see a diverse offering of many European dishes.
Albeit the tacky tablecloths, the interior is very cool - unnerving display of European chocolates, extensive bakery section with cookies the size of my fist, and an intriguing collection of International beers and wines along the back wall.
Nice place. Great beer selection. Food is ok. Mainly just salads, sandwiches and apps. Great desserts! Staff friendly and knowledgeable.
Good choice for vegetarians. Consistently good food...even better now that they added additional vegetarian/vegan choices. The desserts are great too!! I used to just go for dessert until they added decent veggie choices. I actually was astounded last time I went in by the amount of veggie choices.
Amazing. I love being able to walk to European Street and having a cheap, good meal. Not only are their prices extremely reasonable there is almost always a coupon for a meal free in the monthly money magazine.
This place is delicious!!! If you cannot find something on their menu then you are beyond picky! We had the Cuban sandwich and it was delicious! Iced tea was awesome! They have a ton of delicious looking baked goods but we had to skip because we were not heading home otherwise there would have been a to go! Highly recommend! Staff was super friendly!
I stopped in here and had an appetizer. The service was terrific and top notch. The prices for everything on the menu were very reasonable. My son and I were pleasantly surprised by the low prices and great food. We'll definitely be coming back. Great atmosphere.
Good relaxing atmosphere with quick and friendly service. Food can be hit or miss the few times that I have eaten there. Can’t go wrong with their clubs or their ruben. Desert is great to I recommend the classic New York cheesecake.
I really enjoyed my experience here. It did take a little while to get served as the bartender was really busy and had a big section. Even for a Thursday it was a decent crowd. The food came out good and great portions. The menu has a lot of options and they all sounded good. I ordered the french dip on wheat and it was delicious about like the ones I make at home. I will definitely be going back to try everything on the menu. The dessert case is also a nice fresh twist and I recommend trying one while you are there it will be worth it.
The European Street Cafe on San Marco was far beyond good, it was superb. The roast beef sandwich on an onion roll was tender and tasty and everything about it was so fresh! And no skimping on the portions either. And the carrot cake was beyond reproach. So very tasty and the cream cheese frosting didn't overwhelm you with sweetness. Totally delicious. Our server was both friendly and accommodating. His professionalism and service helped to make it more than just having a late lunch. Well worth going back for more!
If your looking for Delicious food ,Outstanding service!, or just a place that takes you back those European roots .... This is Definitely the Cafe to spend your hard earn dough at😉. There are so many choices, I had the Red Baron Club, German potatoe salad, Cashew cheese spread w/ gluten-free crackers & apples. You could eat here every day for a year and try something different! Oh and the young waiter ,was EXCELLENT!! I really enjoyed he smiled the whole time I was there! The atmosphere was amazing. Truly a treat!
We stopped for dessert and hot tea. We walked in, and found a wonderful warm atmosphere. The most beautiful dessert case ....enormous! Friendly staff. The menu is quite varied, I can't wait to try some savory dishes. Tonight we got the Granny Smith apple pie, Italian lemon cream cake, and a German chocolate cookie. VERY very good! We will definitely come back on our next trip!

December 2023 Update: Service was much better than the last time I was here, probably a year or two ago. The young man who served us this time was very pleasant, helpful, and quick. Food was very good. Enjoyed our experience. Appreciate all of the vegetarian and vegan options.

This place is an experience you must have!
It started when we’re driving by, and we could smell the fabulous bread smell half a mile down the road. We ran our errand, and then quickly headed back to eat here. It just smelled SO GOOD.
Our waiter tonight was John C, and he was lovely. Fabulous attitude & funny guy. He gave us excellent customer service, even though the place was packed for their 2 for 1 happy hour. All the staff actually seemed to be working their butts off & paying attention to the details.
After I ordered a vegetarian sandwich with a German potato salad, Desiree came out of the back to confirm— turns out the German potato salad I had read so much about (on the reviews) actually has bacon! So I switched that out for the American instead (which is vegetarian). She also went out of her way to find us a stray Carrot Cake cookie, since they appeared to be out, and my partner loves Carrot Cake and is allergic to nuts— so he can’t have the real thing.
Everything we ate was wonderful. I was especially surprised by the Athena’s Gift sandwich. It’s a gluten-free, raw vegan sausage with cashew cheese. I didn’t expect a fake-sausage to be cold, but other than that I loved it. The seed bread was impressive too— normally that kind of thing tastes or feels like cardboard, but it was soft & delicious!
In addition to the case of fresh desserts, they also have lots of retro candy! I was thinking of stocking-stuffers when we bought our Grateful Dead bar. They also have PEZ dispensers (is that showing my age?), Bottle Caps, Oreo Candy Canes, etc.
For dessert I had an Italian Lemon Crème cake & the Vegan Mocha Love. The Lemon Crème was fluffier than it looked— like angel food cake and lemon cheesecake. The Vegan Mocha had coconut, which was unexpected, and had a nice coffee-like chocolate flavor.
So many fun details here. Each table has a different country map on it & they have an old-style airport flip board that displays different quotes.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and we will definitely be back!
