The service is a hit or miss but if you get a good one it's a great experience
This was really good, but not great. If you need good food after 11pm this is the place to go; but otherwise for food there are probably better options. I got the chicken wings (half “Jills way”, half chipotle honey mustard), the “Thor” burger, poutine with short rib, and the Vlaamse Stoofkarbonaden. The wings were above average. The Thor burger is a multi-layer monster (two half-pound patties, a donut, and lots of other stuff); it’s unique, fun, and memorable - not the best burger I’ve ever had, but I’d do it again (probably have them leave off the donut ... the flavor was completely overshadowed by everything else). The poutine was really good. The Vlaamse was a disappointment- not very flavorful. Service was very friendly and reasonably quick.
Probably one of the coolest places you will ever see! Went on St Patrick’s day and still got a table quick and food was awesome! Staff was incredible! The owner Steve showed us around. One of the best experiences I’ve ever had! From the 4 army pilots from Utah! Thanks again Steve!!

What a great find. Such interesting decor, I would actually love to see it during the day and take some time to explore. For this reason alone I would sit inside so you can admire it all. We sat in a booth, which I love - always creates such a nice atmosphere compared to a standard table setting.
A wide selection of craft beer. The type of clientele that comes here clearly aren't wine drinkers since there were limited wine options and our waitress had to first enquire what wine was available, the price, and then had to search for wine glasses! But wine we did get and it was good.
The menu is varied with plenty of options from fish and shrimp to burgers to meatloaf. From the healthy to the not so healthy options.
Portion sizes seemed somewhat inconsistent though - my entree of fish was smaller than some of the sides. Having said that though, I wasn't unhappy with the portion - more than enough for me, but some may want a bigger portion. Each entree came with a selection of 2 sides, which is also great. Except that I ordered broccoli and venegtables, and the vegetable side was about 95% broccoli - so I basically got a double order of broccoli. Again though, veggies were fresh and well prepared and I gladly had more broccoli.
There were 4 of us and each tried something else on the menu. No one was dissapointed. Shrimps were well cooked, meat loaf looked great, the mac and cheese as a side looked fantastic and tasted great. My husband has there 100% pork patty burger on a Krispy Kreme donught with bacon and loved it. Such an unusual combination but the flavours worked well togther. There were some really interesting burgers on the menu, and in fact some really interesting entrees and appetizers that we had not seen at any of the restaurants in the USA yet.
So we have been missing out. I can't believe it has taken us so long to try out Kickbacks. The "look" of the place is by far the best in Jacksonville. The ambiance of it...by far... Is better then any other bar/restaurant in Jacksonville. The food is pretty good too! We got the smoked shrimp dip which was awesome and the jalapeño cheese sticks...and they were awesome. The French fries and ranch dressing are some of the best in town. We got the Chicken bistro panini - which was okay and the chicken cordon blue - which was great. The beer menu is amazing and this would be a great date night or night out with friends. It's also kid friendly within reasonable hours. They also serve breakfast all day long and have "vintage" items on the menu like Ramon soup. Might be the restaurant with the biggest personality in Jacksonville.
Whenever I go out of town, I always look for a late night joint because I'm a night owl. My homie said Kickbacks was the place I wanted to go and since I don't debate wisdom, he, My Lady and I decided to go.....and BOY, was my Dawg spot on!!! This place is something out of a nocturnal bar animal's dream: Beer galore with bar and "non-bar" food all under the roof of an awesome atmosphere! If you do nothing else in your dining exploration life, you MUST try the French Mushroom Spread! I now have a go-to late night place in Jax.
We hadn't explored the newly remodeled pub in quite some time--wow! The decor is very quirky and makes for a great atmosphere to go for great food and memories. We were delighted to find some of our childhood staples on the menu--as well as the young adult staple:ramen noodles! The tempeh burger was delicious--well seasoned and a large portion. The Mac and cheese was rich and creamy, just as it should be. The beer menu is still a marvel--loved the selections! We will died itself be back!
An steam punk experience with a menu to satisfy all cravings. Knowledgeable staff whom understand you're there for good food, drinks and a good time. I enjoy the panini with their famous sweet potato fries. You're sure to find yourself staring at some of the bizarre yet intriguing decorations during your dining experience. Don't forget, they have their own parking lot in case you can't find street parking. You'll pay $5 to park & given a voucher to be applied to your bill.
one of the coolest restaurants I've ever been in.... if you get a chance you have to walk inside. not only a massive and incredibly delicious menu, but an entertaining building. slow service but it was worth it
Kickbacks. I have been wanting to go to this restaurant for so long now and an extremely glad that I did. My sister and I are two middle-aged black women and were waited on by the cutest little white girl named jennifer. Going to restaurants we are usually stereotyped and not served very well. Our server was the friendliest we have ever had. I feel like we actually became friends. While giving us a tour of the restaurant I told her that my fiance and I had just broken up.. but he proposed to me in Paris while doing the locks for love. They have a similar wall in their restaurant. . That's when jennifer purchased a lock with her own money for me to do a new lock with sister to start a new beginning. I cried. We have never felt so welcome and wanted in a restaurant the way the people at kickbacks made us feel. Thank you. The food was awesome. The restaurant itself is unique and beautiful, and the employees are like no other. Must go!!
Really cool eclectic place lots of unique and funky decor. Food was very good, fish and chips were the best I've ever had fluffy light and chunky fish. Lots of menu to choose from. The lumpia and beignes were awesome!

Amazing atmosphere inside, I’ve never somewhere so unique inside. me & hubby were looking for a quick drink & bite last night and came across them. Mozzarella sticks were out of this world, drinks? Dangerous and delicious. I feel like this is a rare find in Jacksonville the vibe of this place is completely unmatched in any other restaurants here. We definitely agreed this was our new Go-To spot. The waitress was super nice & patient with us taking forever to pick items. ITS A DEFINITE GO TO SPOT IF YOU’RE IN JACKSONVILLE LOOKING FOR GOOD FOOD AND A GOOD VIBE!

I had high hopes for this place and they did not disappoint. The atmosphere is so cool, whether you're eating inside or outside. All of the staff were so friendly and fun! I sat within earshot of the hostess and enjoyed hearing these staff having fun with one another and with what seemed like 'regular' customers, seems like you're part of the family if you ever return. 😊 I didn't have a huge appetite to start with, and that almost made the decisions more difficult as every item on the menu was so delectably described. I chose to sample a snack plate (sliders) and am appetizer (scotch eggs). The sliders had varying meat options, the waitress and kitchen hooked me up and let me split the 4 sliders into 2 with pulled pork and 2 with beef. I think I was halfway into the second slider when my waitress asked if I needed anything to go with them (ketchup, mustard, etc.) And with a mouthful of joy I responded that they were awesome just the way they came out. I had never had scotch eggs before and had been wanting to try them, if you've never tried them, I fully recommend them. These being the first I'd ever tried, but again having a somewhat high expectation of the dish - I was very pleased with my decision to try them.
Nothing was "greasy", everything was balanced - both on my palate and to my taste buddies. 😋
The menu carries enough variety that everyone in your party should be able to find something suitable to their dinning desires - no matter what you're "in the mood for" (for the most part).
I didn't sample any adult beverages on this trip, but the seemingly endless list of choices should fill anyone's cup of tea, or beer, or whatever.
If you've been wanting to check this place out - do it. If you're looking for someplace new - look no further.
Check them out. And don't thank me... just tip your waitress.

This place will not disappoint!!! They have such a huge selection of food!!! The best place to come after midnight!! Also let’s not even talk about how amazing the atmosphere is. Love love
They have an extensive menu, with great food. The chicken bistro panini was delicious with pop of basil that just brought out all the chicken, roasted pepper and mozzarella cheese flavors perfectly. The beer selection will blow your mind! The service is friendly and top notch.
Steampunk themed restaurant and bar. Unlike anything you’d see outside of Vegas or Orlando. Highly recommend the giant pretzel and the sweet potato fries. Appetizer portions are really big so be aware.
So I came in during the early afternoon. I git a chicken wrap and mash potatoes. It was good. Great beer selection. And the atmosphere just wow. You can spend an hour drink and looking at the scenario. Excellent music as well. The bartender even gave me a tour. Got to see where private parties are held. I'm glad I stopped in ignoring the bad reviews.
Great atmosphere and an awesome staff. I had the Pork Belly Banh Mi for about the 5th time and this visit it was definitely the best I've had here. The beer selection is fantastic even though I can't get away from choosing the La Fin Du Monde every visit. Keep up the great work.
