This may be Jackson's best burger, I hadn't been in years, and a friend told me about the amazing burger specials, I stopped in and was not disappointed! And the sides were killer as well, hopefully you have room for dessert, as the bread pudding was outstanding as well.
The food is delicious, the staff is awesome, and the selection of whiskey is fantastic! Karaoke with Matt on Mondays is a must!
Great food and service. The atmosphere had a good pub feel and would definitely eat there again.
Smithwick's Irish Ale. Anybody with Smidick's on tap is OK by me.
Food is awesome, atmosphere is outstanding, beer is cold! Must see Pub!!!
Do you like the Irish?. Great food, great bands. Can't beat it, usually no cover charge. Booze is a little on the expensive side but being a regular often nets a comped drink from time to time. Their lunch specials are always great. Only thing I don't like is the Scotch Egg. Someone orders it and the whole restaurant will stink of boiled egg and fried sausage. Fish and Chips are great and their Bookmaker is served with oven roasted beef that's already dripping with wet goodness, with some au jus made from the pan scrapings. Often times I just bust out four bucks for their basket of fries and come back sauce for lunch and I'm happy. Service is wonderful, atmosphere is welcoming.
Get the Irish stew, or for something different the scotch egg. The ploughmans potato is great too. The only downer here is that guinness is $6 a pint. But that's easy to forgive since they have great music every Thursday with no cover.
Fave. My favorite place in Jackson! Great food and beer.
I hate to rate a restaurant by the live music I have experienced there but that has to me my first comment. Some way cool sounds. Food is always good and the staff seems to always be smiling about something. It's like home, up those stairs.
Really neat place. Been twice and service is friendly and fast. The food is just down and dirty goodness.
Met up with a few foodies today for lunch at Fenians!
I got the Thursday special, hamburger steak with mash potatoes. The mashed potatoes was creamy, just the right amount of butter. Everyone at the table got to try my mash and loved it! This was my first time having mash and slightly cooked kale, I really enjoyed the texture combo! I think I want my mash with kale from now on. The hamburger steak was nicely seasoned with a hint of sweetness from the caramelized onions. I didn't know that I can request my hamburger steak to be cooked medium, so it was made well done and a hair tough, but now I know.
The technique on how to make a scotch egg is a tad tricky to get right. They got that baby down. Yolk was still runny, had just the right amount of sausage, fried crispy without overcooking the yolk, but thoroughly cooking the sausage. It's like breakfast in one bite!
The ladies that ordered the curry really enjoyed it, I got to try some, and it was good. It had some Indian spices in it, but very faint. I didn't taste any heat, but I have no sense when it comes to spicy, the ladies said it was mild.
We all got to try the fish n chips. Cod was fresh, the fry on the fish and chips were spot on, but just needed a hint of salt.
We had shepherds pie and fish and chips, they were delicious. The place is great, very cozy and comfortable. Service was excellent!
Fantastic food. Great pub vibe. Competent and friendly staff. A wonderful Jackson institution. Popular for lunch and dinner. A wee bit high on the drink prices, but a lovely selection of specialties.
Yum! Again, it was yummy! Potato-Leek soup was heavenly, mac n cheese brings a gourmet taste and Shepard’s pie was classic.
Sooo glad we passed through Jackson on our way back to TX and got to stop here. We came at 3pm, so it was slow and our waiter was so attentive and made great menu recommendations. The curry, ruben on rye, and 'sausage & mash' were absolutely fantastic. You can tell the cook put careful attention into the food. He also cooked it in no time. Would love to come back here next time at night to hear the live music. Super cozy/cool, hole-in-the wall environment.
Established bar conveniently located in Jackson. This is as Irish as it gets in town with dusty, older decor, and a bar full of booze. Bar staff is extremely friendly and attentive and can mix any cocktail that comes to mind. Patrons feel welcome no matter race, preference, religion, or creed. None of that matters anyway, it's an Irish bar for heaven's sake! Drink up!
