Why did it take so long for me to go back to Greiner's? I last went to a Greiner's location back in about 97 or 98, and After my most recent visit to the Shelby St. location, I can guarantee it won't take that long again. I got a Mushroom Steak sub, of the 16" variety, and came away happy. Tasty beefy goodness and plenty of it, served up by a young lady that seemed happy to see me. If only I found myself in the area more...
Ate here for the first time at 7:15 on a Thursday. We walked to the register and were greeted with a sour look and "I am never going to get out of here tonight," and nearly left. Although friendliness of the 2 employees was a fail, the subs were awesome and I'm glad we stayed. I had an Italian Beef, served properly by being dipped in spicy au jus. Giardinera (spicy veggies) is optional. The bread was fresh and soft, the beef was thinly sliced, flavorful, not gristley, and plenty of it. He had cold roast beef with green & banana peppers...same thing but not hot and not dipped. You can tell the building's age, but the tables were all bussed and wiped clean and the floor was swept. Pass the Subway and give Greiner's a try!

I’ve had subs to go for most my life from here. Today I took my 19 y/o in for lunch.
We both had the Hot Toddy, fries, lemonade 🍋, and a brownie.
Everything was amazing. The chef spoke with us and made sure to customize our experience for us.
The legendary restaurant is even better in person.

The chef found out it was our first time and happily explained the menu. He continued with being polite and efficient explaining the toppings available for the sandwiches. The chicken salad 8 inch was a huge portion! The fries were not available for about 10 minutes due to changing the oil in their fryer, so he gave us the fries for free, which were delicious! It’s nice to know there are still business who pride themselves on customer service! Will be back again..this time we’ll be trying those brownies, they looked delicious!
Delightfully surprised when I went to this restaurant. I know so far this week one of my colleagues had gone to eat at this place three times so I wanted to see what all the hype was. I had the hot toddy and at first I was slightly disappointed with myself because I had as forgotten to ask for no Chipotle mail but I loved how the sandwich came out the portion was extremely generous and the flavor is incredible.
Like one person said, "Bizarre interpretation of a cheese Steak...". I asked for two cheese steaks and then I was asked if i wanted pepperoni or sausage on it. I said neither as i thought that was a weird topping (it also seemed like the guy working there was on his first day). In the end, i ended up with two pieces of bread with melted cheese on it. I figured something was off as the total was only $9. So, particularly my fault for not speaking up. The cheese bread was good and the lady who rang up my order was really nice.
Pictures don’t do it justice. Huge portions and delicious food. I would definitely order the Hot Toddy and Mac & Cheese again.
Good, locale spot. Prices are excellent and the staff are awesome. Quick service on food. We got a Hot Toddy and it was excellent. Good place to try if you’re in the area and want to stop by for a great meal and the bread was delicious.
I’ve been meaning to check this place out and finally stopped in. This place knows how to operate a business. Owner is amazing and friendly and they make sure you order your food the way you like it because they know everyone likes something different. This is my new go to spot. Definitely worth checking them out if you’ve never been here.
I visited here from New Orleans today and it was incredible. The owner and staff provided excellent hospitality, the food was flavorful and filling, and we could not have stopped at a better sub shop. We drove up from Bloomington just to come here.
The subs were all AMAZING. My husband still raves about the meatball sub!
They did forget that we ordered fries, so we never got any. And, the back side of the restaurant was an ABSOLUTE MESS. We almost just drove away...
Otherwise, a great place to stop for a quick sub!
Turtle 🐢 and Mackenzie crushed it.. from service during a rush, working as a team, communication, time management… great attitude and customer service. Good food is what puts a place on the map but excellent staff is what gives the food its soul 🙏🏻
