We order takeout from here very often and are never disappointed. Between the amazingly fair prices and the delicious food, I don't go anywhere else for Mexican! My favorite thing from any Mexican place is cheese dip and El Rodeo on High School Rd has the best in Speedway! I wish their chips were lighter and not as oily though...
Okay so living in the apartment complex next to this restaurant meant coming there nearly every day after work for drinks. Food is amazing. Queso is out of this world. Only downside is that Jose wont give me his number lol
Been awhile since here last. Got a bowl of the Queso. Pretty good but the chips lacked flavor. Rest of meal (Burrito & Chile Relleno) was pretty good. Service was excellent.

Had a nice lunch here!. We had a couple of good tasting cheese quesadillas. Also ordered the Como #12 (Beef Burrito, Chili Relleno, and beans) which still tasted amazing. Out of all the El Rodeo locations, we like this one the best. Not sure why the taste varies among other locations, but this one always proves the best. Pics included. Enjoy! 2041201
Fresh and Fast. Good service and food on the table fast from the kitchen. I enjoyed it.
People are great. Service perfect. Drinks are strong. Food is excellent. Highly recommend.
Chicken soup is wonderful...meaty, great spices and large portion
Great and Inexpensive. I may sound crazy, because some people say they don't like this place very much, but to me, it's some of the best cheap food I've ever had.
$3.99 Special!!! Let me say it again… $3.99 Special!!!
It's hard to get out of a fast food restaurant for that price and this stuff is made by hand with loving care by some of the best guys and gals from South of the border. Fresh salsa, great chips, flavorful ingredients - and they're service is lightning-fast too. More times than not, the salsa is pretty spicy... that's a good thing in my book. El Rodeo has got handling a busy lunch down to a science. The place starts getting packed shortly after 11 a.m. and it's still full at 1 a.m. Even during the busiest rush, the service doesn't suffer.
Today was no different. I got there at 12:30 p.m. and the place was packed, but I still got seated right away at a nice little table close to the big screen TV. Watching TV isn't why I came here, but catching ESPN in the early afternoon never hurt anyone.
The look of the place has really changed in the last couple of years. They have all new murals painted on the walls of tough looking Mexican bull riders and their hot little Latin maidens. The place is just downright cool. And the outdoor seating… I didn't even tell you about that. It's huge, with wrought iron tables and colorful umbrellas. There's so much foliage around that it feels like a tropical oasis.
Enough of the environment… Let's get to the food. I usually come on Wednesday's or Thursday's. This being a Wednesday, #5 was the lunch special. $3.99! I always go for the chicken, so the lunch came with a chicken taco, a chicken burrito, and a side of Spanish rice. The plates are always filled up and covered in creamy Mexican cheese. Awesome!
Each table has a selection of hot sauces based on taste and they help accentuate the great flavors in the food. If you couldn't tell by now, I'm in love with this place and you might be too, if you give it a shot. I try to come here every week or so. I wouldn't want to eat here more frequently than that, or I might get a little pudgy around the middle. (That's a joke for those of you who know me; I'm "portly-wide.")
Atmosphere: Nice, clean and relaxing even during the lunch rush.
Service: Extraordinary... really. They need to sell their system of service to other restaurants. The servers are always friendly and they get your food out in a flash. That's a huge plus if you're trying to grab a fast lunch.
Overall: Good, inexpensive food that tastes great and will fill you up.
Special Note: I've been eating here since before my kids were born. I love it and I'm looking forward to many more years of belly-filling experiences here. Enjoy!
Very Best ... Having lived in Texas for a number of years, I was hardpressed to find an "authentic" Mexican restaurant in Indianapolis some 10 years ago .. what I found delighted me !! El Rodeo (by Speedway) is my favorite of all!
Excellent "fishbowl" margaritas (I like mine on the rocks), enchiladas, the chicken/rice soup on a cold day is to die for and the fajitas are succulent and tasty!
This has been a monthly staple for me for the past 10 years and will continue to be one of my favorite "hang outs" for Mexican food. You can't beat the service, selection, price and the waiters/waitresses are all friendly and on the ball! Very little wait time (I go right after work with friends). Great place to eat and get your drink on!
LOVE IT!
Cheap, fast, and good! Three very good quslities for a restaurant!
Get the Choriqueso, share with a friend, be happy!
I had an awesome time! The staff was super friendly and the food portions were way larger than I expected. I couldn't eat half of it. But it was good. The drinks 🍸 were well made too so don't have to many 😅
Beef tip burrito was delicious with sour cream on top! Guacamole salad was nice. Beef and cheese dip was good. Ordered by Uber eats and was delivered fast.
Solo dining experience sat at the bar🍸 was greeted quickly ordered my favorite margarita and was given a menu. My food came quickly everything was good another great dining experience at El Rodeo!
This restaurant is in Speedway, stopped in for lunch. The food was really good, as the staff took care of us right away.
I've eaten here a few times. The food is very good and the staff is usually on point. However, try not to be seated under a speaker as the music is turned so others can hear it while it drowns out any hope of a conversation with your family/friends.
Worth the price paid? Yes.
El Rodeo has been around for several years now and continues to thrive. I stopped in for a taco fix. I love their classic American salsa ( chunky, heavy on the onions and cilantro) as well. Service is quick and friendly.
we used to come here all the time expecting bad service because the food was so good and the service was less than terrific. I'm not really sure what happened over the past couple of months but the service has gone through the roof and the food hasn't dropped and even a little. I don't know what's happened here but it gets better every time
Excellent Mexican cuisine. The maguerites pack quite a punch. Ice cold with the right amount of salt on the rim. Fast service. My chimichanga was perfect...you could taste the freshness. They offer 2 sizes, lunch and dinner size. I had the lunch size and was ready to pop. I will be going back to try another entree from their vast menu!
Pollo Jalisco with a side of diablo sauce ~ fantastic!
The food was phenomenal. My wife and I were very pleased with the prompt service
