What can I say about superheroes the best corn beef on rye in the state of Indiana, and possibly the United States.
It's expensive, but the portions aren't small and the food is quite good. My rueben was full of great flavor. The corned beef was a little more fattier than I remember, which I didn't care for, but overall the meal was good. Sandwich with potato salad was $18. I was full the rest of the day.
Went with a good friend who talked me into a tongue sandwich. Glad I listened. It was amazing and extremely tender. You can see by the before and after pictures that I will be back for another one soon
This place has the real stuff! They were out of a couple things, so they gave me an amazing deal. The beef tongue sandwich was right on, and they have real sourdough bread. Solid cup of coffee. The customer service was spectacular, especially Whitney at the register. I guarantee I will be back if my path brings me back to this area of town.
I work at Benjamin Court Apartments and we participate in the monthly catering plan for our residents. It is so awesome!!! The food is always so good and correct for so many orders!!! They come deliver the flyers and pick them up. Its little to no work on my part and proves to be a great addition to our calendar!! The catering manager John Pitts is so professional and patient with our seniors!! His staff member Enrique is the same. These two are always smiling and working hard!!! Cant wait to continue in 2018!!!

$14 for a Shapiro's sandwich is a VALUE. Most folks can't finish one and enjoy a second meal later in the day. Their famous mac'n'cheese is finished with a fast broil so the brown edges on top are delicious and intentional.
Anyone complaining about the price or service is in my opinion passing on bad information, unfamiliar with the rich tradition of Kosher delis and don't understand the quality being served (or perhaps are complaining for the joy of complaining).
I have been going to Shapiro's since I was a boy, and I'll continue to go until I die. They are a tradition, a mainstay, and serve the highest quality food from scratch in the city.
As always, I went with the corned beef sandwich. It didn’t disappoint. I did have a cream ale with it. Unfortunately, I forgot the name. I really didn’t like it. Tasted like a PBR from the gas station. I don’t don’t blame Shapiros for that though. Just mentioned it so you can save your money and get something else. My wife had the PLT. She liked it. She also ordered the potato salad. She said that it was over cooked. Oh well.

I love Reubens! They are very good here. We we're interested in the other meats here and one of the staff fixed us a small plate of their different meats to sample. We appreciated that😀
This is a half of oven roasted turkey on rye and a potato pancake that I brought home. While at Shapiro's I got the pastrami on rye. Excellent I would go back there again.
Kinda pricey and I wouldn't get the gluten free bread, as it just crumbles into nothing when you try to eat your sandwich. Good service and good meats though.
