Very good food! Great service! Went two nights in a row; same server: Caitlyn was tremendous! Will be back (hopefully she will be there next time too)!
This is good BBQ. Brisket was very good for being outside of Texas. Looking forward to trying their other smoked meats. Mac n cheese was also good. They give you some sort of pulled pork to dress it with if you'd like.
The North End Barbecue and Moonshine was an interesting place. The brisket was good - not the best I've had - but good. The chili was also very good with the brisket and house-made bacon chunks. The baked beans were just all right, but the bone marrow butter French fries with jalapeno slices were simply excellent. With a good variety of craft brews to choose from and Bobby's efficient service (even with forgetting the bread and pickles), The North End Barbecue and Moonshine was a wonderful find in my travels. My only wish is that I could have had a sampler platter to try something else with my meal. I guess I'm going to have to go back to try the ribs or pulled pork at some point
One of the best places to eat on the north side. My family and I have been quite a few times and love it every time. The meat always comes cooked to perfection and generous portions. They also have what I believe is one of the best selections of bourbon and whiskey in Indy.
Omg! The brisket and macaroni and cheese were heavenly. I loved the look and feel of the place. Great that you have four BBQ sauces you can try. The meat is tender and just divine. We have another BBQ joint we go to, but now we may have a new contender for the # 1 spot.
Love the North End. Reminds me of Texas. Their brisket has a gorgeous melt-in-your-mouth quality ensconced in a hickory smokiness that will make cowboy boots magically appear on your feet. Not entirely moved by the diner meets rugged chic interior...but I love everything they have on the menu (including the typography).
So good! Order the moonshine punch!!! It is so good and it could lead to trouble since they are so yummy. The chow chow appetizer is also one to get. We will go again.
Our favorite BBQ place! Always great food and service. Dining in the bar can sometimes be a little noisy but the dining room and outside are always fine.

Service & food were excellent. My husband had the BBQ chicken. I had the shrimp & grits & cornbread. We loved it all. Chicken was moist with good flavor. Shrimp & grits had a great favor as well. Cornbread is sweet & served with maple bourbon butter - yum!! We also had the pecan pie parfait for dessert. Ooey, gooey deliciousness. Loved our meal here on our visit to Indy.
Good service, lukewarm good. Our ribs, green beans and fries were served lukewarm, at best. The flavor was good but it is very obvious that all the food was prepared well in advance and not to order and was served from warmers.
Love the higher end barbecue atmosphere and a drink list to match. Definitely one of the best places I’ve ever had barbecue. Kaitlyn was amazing (even if she is an Ohio St fan 😉) and so fun to chat with. Harry is a master of his craft and you can tell he is so passionate about cocktails. Made me a new drink he’s working on which transforms into his take on a cosmo once the cranberry ice cube melts - brilliant! 💡 If you’ve never tried Japanese Whisky, splurge and get one of the Nikka reserve selections! The chicken and ribs were recommended by Kaitlyn and they didn’t disappoint. We finished the afternoon at the couch around the fire pit and the patio servers were attentive to us even though they weren’t our servers. Outstanding food and cocktails, but most importantly, the sevice was top notch. I’ll definitely be visiting again next time I’m in Indy!
A wonderful place to go for good BBQ Pork Ribs. I enjoyed the Ribs and their house salad with honey mustard. The hand cut fries were very tasty. They have a bar so you can order most drinks.
Great service and a nice restaurant. Drinks are on the high side, but are excellent. Went with the platter and felt as though there is an enormous amount of food. And of course, the food is quite good. I went with the pork platter (with 2 sides) - fries and mac and cheese.
Previously went with one of the sandwiches and was also very pleased with it too.
The food is amazing. The best fries(jalapeno truffle) I've ever had. Great bar as well. BBQ sampler platter is good, salmon dip and shrimp and grits are also very tasty and worth a trip.
A classy establishment for a barbeque joint. It's a whiskey bar as well. It has outside patio and places by windows. It's a pricey so don't go in without a couple of Andrew Jackson's. The milkshake was delicious. It has room for about 70 people. I got rib sandwich with Mac and cheese.
Love North End! New update: try the candy-flights of whiskey paired with candy. We had the dark chocolate flight- love, love, ... loved it!
Food is tops. Bourbon and whiskey selection is best in Indy! Staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Harry at the bar is a real whiskey expert. Check out Harry’s whiskey 101 class that they host a few times per year. If you like a great salad, try the smoked turkey Cobb- simply wonderful. Adult Milkshake is unique indulgence and not to be missed. Your loss if you don’t go. You won’t be sorry.
My Central Indiana destination for a Kentucky Hot Brown. Not impressed with the Mac-n-Cheese but the fries are delicious.
First time in Indianapolis, ordered 1/2 slab & one meat (brisket). Ribs were very good, moist and tender. Brisket was even better, maybe the best I ever had. Collard greens and hoppin John was also very good, plus generous portions. Highly recommend. I'm from jacksonville, Go Jags.........Duuuuuuval!
Loved it!!! Brisket was the best I've ever had. Staff was amazing, down to earth. Great atmosphere. Can't believe there wasnt a line out the door. New favorite restaurant for me.
I was invited by a friend to dinner here which I felt would be kind of awkward since I'm vegan. However my worries were put to rest right away. Our waitress was very helpful and eager to explore menu options with me and then we were suprised by Chef D ! He created a veggie Poutine for me that was absolutely phenomenal on many levels. Completely unexpected!!! Then the main course arrived!! Totally blown away by the smoked portabella topped with house made green tomato chow chow. A savory dish with a touch of sweetness. Can't say enough for the welcoming environment in a BBQ place for a Vegan!! Chef D you rock!!!!!
