The location is charming and our bartender was pleasant. This is not a full bar, but had tasty wine cocktails. The food was very good. Try the baked brie, you'll be very happy you did. We came in for a quick bite before going to a movie. I would definitely like to come back and see what their brunch is like.

Tucked into Old World, this place has tons of personality and charm. Low lighting, 1920s decor, and a mixture of jazz and roaring 20s era music helps set the mood. They serve multiple types of craft beer, with the taps always rotating so no one gets bored. There is also a decent wine selection, most of which are affordable for someone on a casual date. There are also a few wine and champagne based signature mixes. The food may be the most amazing part of the whole experience, I have yet to find something that I don't like there. They are mainly appetizers but there are some larger plates available. There are also several desserts offered. It is a great place for a date night; very intimate atmosphere, great staff, and amazing food and drinks. This is in great contrast from the large chain restaurants across the street.

The Speakeasy is a cute wine bar in the city of Huntington Beach. It's tucked away in the Old World Village and across from Costco. I love the ambiance here. It's dimly light, romantic, and perfect for date night. They have wines, craft beers and small plates/tapas. I remember having a couple glasses of reds from Napa that were fantastic. Aside from the wines, the food was pretty good. The menu changes quite often but I remember the bacon wrapped dates and the pork belly were delicious. You can get a bottle of wine on Wednesdays for $20 Don't come expecting a full bar here. They do not serve hard liquor-- They do serve a few cocktails made with shochu.

It's a nice little lounge nested in the quite Old World Village by Bella Terra. I love the romantic atmosphere there. The owner appears to love food, so the menu changes, you always get creative, carefully prepared dishes. The price is a bit high and the serving is small. But its a great place for a weekday date night.

Tucked inside the Old World Village, The Speakeasy is a great getaway to relax with craft beer and tapas. It's unpretentious, warm, and overall exudes a good vibe. The co-owner, Tina, was very accommodating and personally served us. Her recommendations of tapas was spot-on and we enjoyed everything that we ordered! (Which is rare for me) We got: - Enoki "Spaghetti" with Eggplant Marinara - $7 This was our favorite. The butteryness and the texture of the enoki acting as spaghetti was lovely. Eggplant tasted fresh even though it had a fried coating. Excellent flavor! - Bacon Wrapped Dates w/ blue cheese on side - $5 I really like this version of the bacon wrapped dates compared to Lola Gaspar's. The blue cheese is cold and on the side which doesn't overpower the bacon and the dates. You're able to appreciate all the different tastes rather than one melted mess :) - Bone Marrow Crostini - $10 This was the first time I've had bone marrow, and it was like pate on crostini. (I love pate) The pickled shallots kicked up the "interesting-ness" of the marrow a bit since I love pickled items with savory. It's best to eat this dish fairly quickly instead of letting it sit though, because I felt the crostini got a bit oily after soaking in the marrow for a bit. - Garlic Bacon Mac & Cheese - $5 Super comforting! I know some reviews said it was a bit watery but I prefer non-thick mac. It's less heavy and again, the taste was rich with the bacon and garlic. It's a good "filler" to have among tapas. - Filet Mignon Skewers (off-menu) - ?? This was an off-menu item and the filet mignon was super tender. I liked the vinaigrette sauce it came with as it was tangy and balanced the meat flavor really well! - Prohibition Amber Ale - $6 I got this purely for the name. It's a bit darker than I usually drink but I still enjoyed it all the same since we had wonderful tapas to pair it with. Kudos to the chef, Ann and co-owner, Tina for such a solid establishment! Will be back!

This place is so cute that I'm gonna gag. I grew up not too far from here and am only discovering this whole area of Old World Village just now. I guess I didn't make enough German friends in my youth nor was I old enough to know the magic of Oktoberfest. If you are looking to get your schnitzel on, look no further. The most speakeasiest thing about Speakeasy is probably how it's buried within Old World Village, but that's about it. No hidden doors or parlor tricks (the restroom door is pretty camouflaged though). It's very cute here and if you're looking to gather 5 to 10 friends for a friendly witch's brew, this place definitely fits the bill. On a Wednesday dinner time, there were maybe about 4 other groups in here with more room to spare. Ambiance indoors was dark, but inviting with some board games on the wide wide bar. Outside patio would be fun too overlooking a Costco parking lot. Beers that we got ran at $6/pint. No specific happy hours, but daily specials like Wednesday $20 wine bottles. -=-Marrow Crostini-=- The priciest thing we got, but easily the most flavorable. Marrow is pre-spread onto toasted crackers. Every bite was a buttery goodness with a marrow aftertaste. This dish is a must, but don't overdo it or your mouth will be an oily mess. -=-Enoki Pasta-=- Super creative and very creamy. Butter in the cream may be the secret to this dish. The enoki mushroom picks up the sauce much better than spaghetti. The serving size was small for a pasta dish, but this is a tapas place afterall. This should be shared between 2 people so no one is buttery overloaded. -=-Bacon Wrapped Dates-=- Tiny and disappointing compared to others I had. These pop in your mouth as easily as a chicken nugget. Pop pop pop and you're done. Get these if you're looking for an appetizer option, but don't expect much dates, or bacon for that matter. -=-Garlic Bacon Mac-=- The ultimate filler here. There was another mac option, which I'd probably prefer over this one. Good garlic aftertaste with every bite. If you don't get a mac dish here, your stomach will be growling again within 2 hours.

What a stylish hidden gem of HB! I loved the fact that there is a tiny German town tucked away, and there is this cool Speakeasy bar found in the plaza. All the little dishes are great and love the beverage selections, given the title of the joint.
