Tried this place randomly. Had their Chefs Special, which is pastrami and Turkey. It was good. My mom had their tuna, that was so good as well.
Next time I'd like to try one of their cold subs pr their Cuban. Their potato salad was also really good, super homemade tasting. I'll definitely be going back.
Best Deli in SO. Calitijuana! Between baking their own bread, turkey and roast beef it just doesn't get better than this. 40 years I've been eating here. Best pastrami this side the Mississippi. Rick
I haven't had an Italian sub like this in years!! The bread was nice and flakey and the ratio between the bread and meat, was perfect. The sandwich was flavorful and refreshing, as it didn't way me down. I look forward to coming back again, and trying other sandwiches.
Honestly one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had. The bread is crispy on the outside moist on the inside. Great selections of meat. I fell in love with this place while working in Huntington Beach and now that I don't work in HBi still visit this deli. And I live in La Puente, About 25 miles away!
If you want either authentic Cuban food or great hoagie sandwiches, DeSimone's Deli is your restaurant to feed your soul. Great location on Edinger/Gothard & no problem parking under the building apartments. I had the Fricase chicken & my son had Lechon shredded pork, both with rice, black beans & fried plantains. Super yummy.
Great Italian subs, and bread. Staff is super friendly, family owned. Plenty of parking. A few Cafe tables out front.
I'll put it to you this way, I'm a frequent flyer at this deli, nearly two decades? The Hot Cuban, 16 inch. I have friends who drive from Santa Monica to order this thing. Enough said. My sandwich is getting 🥶

I went to Johns Philly Grille and they were closed on Mondays.
So I remembered a friend of mine went to DeSimone Deli & Bakery. He told me that this establishment has been around for years with some of the best sandwiches and baked bread, etc. Great thing they are located in the same plaza on the West side next to Kung Pow Bowl Which is another hidden Gem with some of the best Chinese Kung Pow Chicken (Sit Down Restuarant with plenty of seating).
Being a First time customer here and taking my time reading many of the reviews, I ordered their 8" Pastrami Sandwich for under $13. It was delicious and packed a lot of great flavors! The bread was amazingly fresh, crispy on the outside, wonderfully soft on the inside, and not thick and doughy like other deli sandwiches. The ratio of the amount of bread in every bite is perfect!!! Some places have thicker doughy bread which steals the flavor away from the high light of the enjoyable Pastrami flavor burst.
If you're looking for a great Pastrami Sandwich, look no further!!! Try it and see for yourself. It was very filling for me.
(Parking lot is in a shopping center and it is easy to find parking).
My friend took me here for dinner tonight and we had the pastrami and boy was it good. I definitely recommend taking the time to eat in and enjoy it. I will be coming here again when I am in the area.
Best old school deli in town. Sandwiches made to order on fresh baked bread. I’m glad they have a huge menu board. I look forward to trying each and every one!
