Love Ethiopian food—I’ve been eating it all my life.
Really enjoyed the takeout order. Smelling the food in the car on the way home was torture. Ater/yekik is my all time favorite and this place did not disappoint. Really enjoyed the chicken wot as well.
Vegetarian and vegan options exist.
Bahel Ethiopian restaurant serves fantastic, authentic Ethiopian cuisine. Their delicious food spans from breakfast to dinner, making it a must-visit spot in Houston. The atmosphere adds to the overall experience. Highly recommended!
Absolutely incredible! Possibly the best Ethiopian food I’ve ever had. I have tried Ethiopian restaurants all over the country, and this place really blew me away. The market is also really cool. You can get grains and spices that you can’t find anywhere else. The vibe was awesome, loved all the decorations. The girls were worked there were so nice and helpful. Very very very affordable prices for how much food you get. Great experience. Next time I am in Houston, this will be my first stop.
The food is very good, large portions and kind staff. Elaborately decorated interior. Was busy both times I went.

The veggie plate was delicious with many dishes to try and good sized. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy.
Even though we live in cypress, we drive 45 minutes to this place often because of their outstanding customer service and delicious food. To mention some of their qualities, greets us with a smile, knowledgeable with what they serve, Clean and cozy area and family friendly. Simply the best
Great ambiance with nice decorations. The servers were very friendly. The place gives a good cultural representation of Ethiopia. I tried Shrimp TiBs😋😋😋 delicious and huge quantity.
Had this for lunch on the weekend. I have tried other Ethiopian restaurants in Houston, and this is my new favorite! Everything was very flavorful and delicious. I would highly recommend to grab some family/friends and go for the 4 veggie & 4 meat combo and get the whole experience by eating with your hands! One thing to keep in mind is that we came for lunch at about 1:30pm and after ordering, it took somewhere between 45 minutes to an hour for our food to come out. It could of just been slow that day, but I would be careful if you are on a time crunch. Otherwise, the food was worth the wait!
