A fun Washington Ave bar....good food & below photos were taken at a veteran event that occurs monthly at this location
This has quickly become one of my favorite places to go on Washington Avenue. I've come here on different nights of the week and there's always something great going on! The food menu is better than what you typically find at bars, and they've got enough TVs so that you can catch your favorite teams.
This place also has a great patio area to toss some bags and a few arcade games also if you enjoy things like that. There's different specials throughout the week, so it's a different experience every time.
I stopped by on a Thursday, and it happened to be steak night. There was a solid beer selection, great service, and the steak was even better. I will without a doubt be returning to Little J's. Highly recommend giving this bar a shot if you have not yet!
This is a small, nice, and clean location. Perfect spot to hang out, catch a few drinks, and even snack on their very yummy bar snacks. Sometimes they get busy but patience goes a long way with these friendly servers. If you're into sports, they've got plenty of tvs to fulfill your needs both indoors and on their patio.
My husband, myself and Gabby Tervino went to Little J's for dinner and to recognize all the Veterans that attended the We loved the food and we will deffinately return fir more of the great tasting food. The atmosphere and all the people who work there were very friendly and responded very quickly. My husband and I enjoyed being there for the Cigar Social for Veterans. This was our 1st time & it was totally amazing to see people who appeared to be friends and people whom were strangers come together like they knew each other for years. Totally awesome to see such care and compassion and amazing food along with service.
I enjoyed every second at this sports bar. We went for a dear friends birthday on a Friday. The place was packed & the music was jamming (old school hip hop) that night (not sure of other nights). I love a place where I can eat, drink and then dance to burn off the calories. Smart concept J's!
ATMOSPHERE: Best part!
What I loved most was the DIVERSITY. There aren't many bars/clubs in Houston where races "co-mingle" this is my opinion based off of residing here for over 15 years. To walk into a SPORTS BAR in the WASHINGTON AREA where OLD SCHOOL HIP HOP is playing and seeing faces of all colors dancing, singing, laughing and partying together is what is SHOULD be all about. Thumbs up!
FOOD: Everything contains bacon!
Which is a good thing if you like bacon. My group no so much.. but you can get it without bacon. MUST TRYS: "Freight Train Fries" and "The Mother Daughter!! So good! They serve REVERSE BRUNCH starting at 9pm on Saturday!
PARKING:
Horrible. Street parking. Figure it out. Be aware of street signs.
Great music! Live DJ! As well as Juke Box Great Food! $1 Tacos on Tuesdays which im sure are some of the best gourmet tacos ive had!! Also they have BINGO on Tuesdays too!!
Parking is located in the rear of building across from a pizza joint, security is on site
First time in Houston and this was one of my favorite spots. Other places were not so friendly on Washington Ave (kung fu) but this place was awesome! Thank you Kayla for taking care of me at the bar, amazing bartender!!!
Awesome bar! The owner is super cool and so are the staff! Highly recommend the place for watching sporting events and also the food it's really good!
Stopped by here for a happy hour event, the food was good and the beer was cold. Parking kind of sucks on a busy day but the beer options make up for it. Good place on the weekend.
