I've been to many seafood restaurants and I can honestly say my visit to Mambo in McAllen two weeks ago and Houston yesterday were delicious. Some of the freshest seafood I've had anywhere. Delicious. Fried was light crust and crispy. Grilled was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The empanadas were amazing, crispy and filled with fresh shrimp and white cheese gooey flavor. The Mambo Combo was huge generous portion without the exorbitant prices at "fancy" seafood joints and more delicious. Highly recommended and staff was friendly and helpful.
So excited Katy is getting a Mambo's soon. Don't change a thing! Perfection.

This is my first visit to Mambo Seafood. The food is GREAT. The server is friendly, and fast service. There’s a little difficulty ordering since I am not verse in Spanish. The best of all, even though the server forgot to give me back my credit card. When I retrieve it, it was in a safe place wherein the manager has the key. They also verified my identity through my TDL. I’ll be back.
Ist time here with the work crew. Visiting from Austin. Wow! Stuffed shrimp was excellent. I also had the fried fish. It was all excellent. Service was amazing and she was super friendly. Highly recommend. I will have to return. 12/12 2nd visit. Love the stuffed shrimp and fish!
Its been a wheile since i been here but its always good. I always get the fried shrimp i had to send it back the first time because it was cold but they dis not disappoint the second time
I love Mambo's. However, my most recent visit yesterday (9/3/2023) was the worst experience. I've looked for contact to make you aware privately. Mambos food has always been great, and my fam wants to visit Mambo's every visit to Houston but not sure on returning.

They did not cheap out! Got way more then I paid for if you all me. I ordered through doordash and my to go container was filled more than I could have ever asked for. Food is great! Thank you!!!
Clean restrooms, amazing food.. the rice!!! Only $12. It's gotta be like 5 lbs. Very attentive service. Always come here when I visit this area.. #Classic Family Meal
It gets packed, and it takes a long time to get food.
The food is good. The waitresses are nice. I would definitely eat here again.
The mambo shrimp is really good. Perfect flavor and amount if shrimp for the price.
The fried rice is not it and would not recommend as it tastes dry. Even though you do get a lot of rice, it tastes very stale.
I was there to pick up some dinner this evening. There were many waitresses to help the customers. I ordered their Mambo Classic #1, 2 fried fish fillets & 6 shrimps. I have been to this restaurant before. The place was boisterous as usual. There were so many dine-in customers and a long line of bags of take out orders. It was a very busy place. I sat outside and waited on their patio. The weather was warm but breezy so the wait was pleasant. It took them some time to give me my order. My order is only $11, most economical, and I believe, worth more than what they charge. I love their shrimp fried rice. I will definitely come back again.
It was great experience, amazing services and food .. best fried shrimp I ate in Houston .. Sure I recommend it to visit .. nice atmosphere to have your family in or out .. very organized .. not too much wait .. you have to visit them you will thank me 😁 Prices are very reasonable .. Good luck
Fresh seafood, great service, and a bangin’ margarita?? Can’t ask for more!! Huge portions sizes on everything and Dorian was pretty attentive, though she did kinda disappear towards the end of our meal. We’ll be back for sure.
Food is always consistent with flavor throughout the years. The only change was the tartar sauce. New recipe, it’s not good. Ask for tartar sauce in to go packages. I order the veggie rice and side of grilled veggies and salad. We also order the “Family pack” for the family. Lots of food in the family pack. Always have leftovers.
