Chicken plus has some of the best fried chicken and Okra in the city! I’ve never been a big fan of fried Okra because it would always taste slimy in the center. chicken plus batter is seasoned to perfection and okra isn’t slimy. I almost ate them all by myself. The fries are really good as well. The chicken is priced very well with inflation. We were able to feed a family of 4 for under $30 with a few pieces of chicken left over.
They have different specials throughout out the week. If you want to Dark piece special I would advise for you to go early because they sellout fairly quick. The kool aid is very sweet but the flavor to sugar ratio is appropriate and with ice it balance it very well.
We stay about 45 mins away and the drive is definitely worth it. When we went you didn’t have the option to dine in, they might have had a dine in area once upon a time but you can tell it hadn’t been occupied In awhile which it seemed as if everyone was okay with that. You may also see some stray animals walking around but they don’t bother anyone.

The cashier can make you not want to patronize this establishment. Unfortunately, it's so hard for business to find good hospitable employees.
Omg I recently moved here and this is the best chicken and fried okra I had in 2 months. Only thing I live 40 mins away. All the good food in the hood. Lbvs

I have known about Chicken Plus for years but when I moved to the southwest side I completely had forgotten about them. On this day last week I really wanted some good fried chicken and I said oh I’m going to Chicken Plus!
Now when you walk in don’t expect anything fancy because this is a hood spot! It has been here for years. I am giving them 4 stars because they are not very friendly when handling customers and maybe they don’t care to because people will continue to patronize this establishment.
I didn’t want fake chicken like the other places I wanted some real seasoned fried chicken. I ordered the 6 piece wing dinner with fries and a large kool-aid which I call hood-aid. Only cost me $11 dollars.
When I tell you this chicken is seasoned so well that you don’t need to add any salt at all. I mean seasoned down to the meat as if they brine the chicken and so crispy. Every bite has a crunch. What I really liked was that the chicken was not huge and the size of my hand it was small and seemed to be fresh! I really hope it was fresh because it tasted like it. The fries were seasoned good and it also came with a roll.
Whenever you go there, make sure to get the hood-aid. Oh my goodness it was so good! Just thinking about it makes we want to go today.
Overall this is my chicken spot to go to when I want homemade fried chicken that is not hit or miss!! Just don’t expect great customer service. 🤷🏾♀️
This place is awesome. It’s not fancy to look at but the line out the door will be your first clue that it’s worth the effort.
The service was friendly and efficient. The chicken, piping hot, crispy on the outside, and soft, and moist on the inside. Perfectly seasoned.
Be sure to pick up one of the small Bundt cakes at the front counter. They’re as good as the chicken!
Absolutely the best fried chicken in Houston and surrounding areas. If you're not African American, you eat fried chicken too! So, put your bias aside and enjoy the food. You won't be disappointed.
Food is amazing customer service needs a little improvement but the food so good I over look it
It’s been years since I visited this spot. Food still awesome prices better than KFC and fresh as always.
So I was upset with myself for only getting a 3 piece wing. I should have gotten more they put they foot in it. Definitely worth giving it a shot got it for me and my wife and I loved it.

Not everyday u have ppl to put a smile on your especially when tht particular day is not a good day for you but the young lady name shaleah and I maybe spelling it wrong but her customer service on today made my day cause honestly today has been a rough day for me I literally had to come back to my truck and pray for her before pulling off may God continue to bless her thanks again for the much needed smile
