Delicious homemade food. Great staff and great lunch atmosphere. Chicken fried chicken and cooked cabbage never fails. I ordered my holiday pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving as well.
Treebeards has been around for more than 30 yrs. It is still as good as the very first time I tried it back in the 90’s. The cafeteria style is fast and the food is amazing. The fried catfish and red beans & rice are the best you will find anywhere. This place is an institution. I hope it continues to be around for many years to come. The people that work here are SO nice…. and all the desserts are wonderful!💕💕
The food was good, just not as good as I remembered. I ordered Chicken fried Chicken with Mashed potatoes and gravy; also broccoli and carrots. And chocolate cake.
The food was hot, which was great! The chicken needed salt, which surprised me. The gravy was delicious and the vegetables also needed salt. I was a little disappointed in the chocolate cake because the icing seemed a little thin. It was always my favorite before.
I had a little difficulty in figuring out the difference in what you get for $10 versus $15. Finally became clear and was able to make my choice clear to the servers.
My husband really liked the bread and butter and ate lots of it. Their hot sauce is good, too. I love their ice because it's not hard.
Hadn’t dined at Treebeards in a while, and was considering a healthy option as I drove past the church. The food is every bit as great as I remember it!
I absolutely love the food here. Everything that I've tried was delicious. I can't wait to go back! 😋
I absolutely love Treebeard's. The food is fresh, hot, and flavorful. Red beans and rice with cheese and onions are my favorite. It is perfect for this rainy day. I decided to treat myself with the moist and delicious yellow cake with chocolate icing it makes any good day even better.
Great comfort food! I usually go for the red beans and rice with sausage, but lately I have tried the catfish and meatloaf. There is nothing on the menu that isn’t great!
This a fabulous spot for those spontaneous group lunch events. Big tables with ample space for all your officemates. Fast buffet lines and wide variety of Louisiana inspired menu. Delicious gumbo, red beans and rice, jambalaya, etc. Great prices for quality food at about $10 per person. And, what's really neat about this place is that it is in a fellowship hall for an active church, the place is differentiated and fun experience too.
We ordered 2 cakes, strawberry and Italian Cream- a few months ago when my daughter passed. The Italian Cream was wonderful as always; but the Strawberry was not good- everyone who tasted stated the icing was sour. So, we had to throw it away. We all make mistakes so I will patronage Treebeards, but will not get the Strawberry cake- maybe receipe changed- that's why I gave 3 stars on food- money wasted.
Treebeards has been consistently good for the thirty+ years I've been eating there. Their menu doesn't have a ton of variety, but that's in their favor, because what they do cook is on par with any white tablecloth restaurant despite serving everything off of a steam table. I think they still rotate some dishes on different days, so be sure to check in ahead of time to ensure they're serving catfish (for example) if that's what you want.
Although prices have slowly drifted upwards to reflect cost of living increases, this is one of the few places that doesn't feel like they've subjected us to shrinkflation. And again the quality is there without any pretension, deconstruction or food served on a plank.
