Hidden Gem!

This is very good and if you need baked goods (who doesn’t) leave room or better, take some home with you. This restaurant never disappoints, but is never fancy. Just folks eating good Mexican food.

Regulars here!

We love this local, family business. The exterior may keep some away, but the food and service keep us coming back on a weekly basis for breakfast. And plenty of others - there is often a line on weekends. The food is fresh and simple with reasonable prices to match. Friendly service and home-made pastries worth the calories!

La Guadalupana Bakery and Cafe is a hole in the wall that I’ve wanted to try for years.

It is located on Dunlavy, between Common Bond and The Guild, and always seems to be busy. When you see the restaurant from the street, you know it’s not going to be fancy.  But since the parking lot is always full and people are always at the tables, we finally found a time to stop...

Awesome coffee! Has a bit of cinnamon in it! And great chicken tamales! Just came for coffee and a pastry but ended up with the tames instead- great choice!

Absolutely first rate! The wife and I enjoyed a spectacular chicken enchiladas verde and enchiladas mole (chicken). Home made with fresh ingredients and pride! A must stop for foodies!!

Although the service is slow and disorganized, the food is excellent and makes up for it. Best horchata outside of Mexico City.

The food was good and the service was even better. The guy behind the counter gave superb service and suggested their almond croissant. Which was amazingly tasty! He even offered the mailman a free bottle of water which I thought showed great hospitality! I would definitely recommend this place!

Must Try!. I had to check the kitchen to see if my Abuelita was cooking! I had the chicken mole enchiladas and was blown away. Very Authentic and for $9.50 you could not beat it. Great meal, savored every bite.

Local bakery/breakfast spot for hearty options such as breakfast croissants and tacos. The salsa verde packs a punch. The croissant was flaky delicious, filled with fluffy eggs and crispy bacon. Will come back to try their bakery items

This is a small hidden mom and pop shop pumping out some great Mexican/texmex fair. The torta was on that classic bread that you love and stuffed with quality toppings, flavorful fajita steak and an awesome sauce that I didn’t notice before I tasted it. We had to try the green enchiladas as they won praise in the early 2000’s. They have a citrus forward verde sauce and topped with lettuce and avocado. Overall I would say they were very good but not the best I have ever had. What moves this to 5 stars is the price. The quality to price is awesome! Clearly it is a local favorite. There is a constant flow of people in and out while you are there. The breakfast menu looks like it may be the strength. Parking is a bit tough and you may need to walk a little.

Topical Mexican food. Food was delicious. Cafe de hoya is my favorite (strong coffee) Street parking if available, some parking space in front of bakery. The wait for seating was not bad. Some waiting for the food to be served. Service was great. Small place inside. Seating outside available too.

An unassuming breakfast spot that brings incredible homemade flavor to simple breakfast options. I had the croissant breakfast; essentially a breakfast sandwich with a croissant, filled with a bacon and vegetable omelet. The croissant was fresh and flaky. The bacon in the omelette was thick and scrumptious. Even the coffee was smooth and satisfying. My wife had an omelet with tortillas and refried beans. A sampling of her meal confirmed that the beans and tortillas were also excellent. Before stopping in for breakfast I thought it was just a bakery! Don’t miss out on a great breakfast hiding in the heart of Montrose - this place is really good!

It was an authentic Mexican breakfast spot with less waiting time than others due to its location. We sat outside and it was a nice environment filled with people coming in and out constantly. The food met my expectations and will definitely come back again.

The best thing about this place is the owner and the energy they bring to their local community. It is a small owned business and the owner is the one running the show there! Very sweet staff and customers. It is worth the wait. Best spiciest salsa ever!! The Menudo was delicious and so was the coffee. It is a house blend of their own! Give it a shot and support your local businesses!

I ordered the Chilaquiles and my boyfriend got the Enchiladas de Mole, both were great! The mole was the perfect amount of sweet so it was refreshing to taste that. We also got churros and a hot chocolate a perfect pairing to start of my morning. Highly recommend! The salsa verde is not too spicy but it has a quick.

The croissant sandwich was super soggy. Not yummy. Croissant, coffee, flan, and carrot juice = $26.

This is now my favorite Mexican breakfast. I can’t wait to go back and try more things off the menu. As soon as you sit down a basket of homemade chips and salsa are brought to the table. I had the taco which was made with a homemade tortilla, the omelet and beans my friend had was perfect. The food is great. On the way out we got samples of pastries and the cookies to try at home. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The place was packed and when we left there was a line of people waiting outside. It’s not glamorous, you come here for the good food and the friendly staff.
