Love love this place. Even though sometimes it's hard to find the parking spot in downtown it is really worth it! My bf's recommended this place to me and I'm glad that he did. So far I came here twice. One time I ordered street tacos with carne asada & carnitas and this time I ordered the quesadilla with carnitas. Both time I was super happy😊
Being a SoCal native I was craving good Mexican food. And I found the spot. Super close to my house and really good value for what you get. This time I went in the morning with my 2 year old and got a breakfast burrito and horchata. So good! Love that I had choices for the beans in my burrito and also all the other choices (sour cream, cheese, onions, hot sauce, etc).
Best Mexican food in Honolulu.
Fresh chicken burrito + cold horchata.
This place is great for breakfast! A great tasting, mostly healthy, huge egg and meat (pollo, steak, or pork, I believe) burrito for $4.50. How can you beat that in Honolulu?
Their price goes up a bit for the lunch menu, but still very reasonable. And, contrary to the review that said they're only open for lunch, they are now open until 6pm, as I recall - and of course for breakfast.
I love this place. I eat breakfast there 3-4 times a week.
I'm from So Cal moving to Hawaii just over 3 years ago. I miss authentic Mexican food, until now. Awesome horchata, burritos and tacos made just the way I want them. We don't make it here enough for lunch but when we do, its worth the effort of beating the lunch hour clock. The guys are super nice and prices care very reasonaable.
I love this place. I've had a lunch burrito from these gents at least once a week for the past year. They have a fantastic attitude (all smiles) and the burritos are always delicious and HUGE - great value. Show up hungry, and get there before noon to beat the rush.
Fast, cheap, satisfying. Got two breakfast burritos, $7 each. Carnitas, eggs, beans, rice, cheese, sauce. For the niche that this place fulfills I would give 5 stars except there was no spice and no available hot sauces. Burritos so big I had to give one away to MaiMai on the street.
Smaller menu, but I like it like that--when a shop does a few things really well versus a million things badly. La Mision has more flavorful meat choices than other places. Street tacos are proper w/2 tortillas each. Pico de Gallo is fresh.
Horchata is nice and you can tell it is house-made. Salsas are very good, Verde is a little mild for me but I like a good bite; prefer the red.
Owner is very sweet & on site.
Good pricing & daily specials. Recommend the taco plate.
El Chapo playing on Netflix in the restaurant? Yassssss! Awesome!
6 tables, lots of chairs.
Try for on-street parking, because you'll have to walk into Fort Street Mall for this little shop.
Family friendly tho not sure where bathroom is. Would need to check that out before bringing any little kids.
Accepts credit cards.
Recommend.
The best Taqueria in the island !! Fresh ingredients , you must get the breakfast burritos!! I really hate to say but they might be closing ! 😞
Wish you guys luck in the future !
Used to come here probably every other week. The only place that can satisfy my Mexican itch on the island. Last couple times I’ve been it’s been closed though, no sign but doesn’t look like good news.
