Baker’s Crust has been part of the Short Pump Mall for many years. They offer a wide variety of options on their Breakfast, Lunch/Dinner, and drink menus. Breakfast served daily until 2 PM, and Happy Hour is between 3 PM to 6 PM daily. On a nice day, it is quite enjoyable sitting outside watching mall goers. The presentation of their food always looked appetizing. Service was very professional. We ordered two appetizers, Smothered Fries and Burrata & Tomato Relish. Both were very good. I wouldn’t mind order them again. Perfectly cooked French Fries was covered with candied bacon, parmesan cheese, dill pickles, and drizzled with parsley garlic sauce (chimichurri) and garlic aioli. It was amazing. Burrata is an Italian cow milk cheese made from mozzarella and cream. It was paired with cherry tomato, arugula and balsamic glaze; served with grilled rustic sourdough slices. The bread was good by itself. Only two slices came with the order, our nice waiter Matt brought out three more slices. All together was the perfect blend. For lunch we ordered Smoky Bacon Burger, Bacon & Egg Cheeseburger, Charleston Chicken &Avocado Sandwich, and Swanky Benedict. The portion is reasonable. However, food lacked flavor, didn’t taste as good as we hoped. I guess that is the trade off for dining at a franchise restaurant. Over all, it was a great experience. We didn’t offer desserts at this time. I know that they have great desserts from our past visits. One more thing, they have a Gluten Free menu with lots of selections. Be aware that Baker’s Crust charges 3.5% of your bill for paying with Credit Card.

Not a bad place for a meal! Clean with a friendly staff. Burgers looked good. The bolognese I had was alright. Chicken and waffles was a mixed bag. Waffle was solid. Chicken wasn’t seasoned at all, which came through even when doused in syrup. Decent value though.

I am a fan of quirky coffee mugs, and this place delivers. We went there on a Saturday around noon. The place was busy, but they run a well-oiled machine here, so we were seated immediately. The place has good energy and a welcoming vibe. Our server was very friendly, even though she was juggling way more tables than one could. We had chicken and waffles that came out yummy. The sweet syrup that comes with it went really well with the chicken. We also had a chicken cold sandwich. This came with homemade chips that were the right amount of crispy and tasty. My Maryland omelette (that has crab meat) was also quite well done. And as I said above, the coffee was strong, just right, and the mug was fun. The food came in like 15 minutes. That’s just amazing in these busy times with staff shortages everywhere. Incidentally I have been to a number of breakfast places as of late, so the food is definitely four star compared to those. However the service is just plain excellent and the ambiance is awesome. A 5-star experience overall. Will visit again when in town.

My first time at this restaurant. I found it to be very clean very calm at the time I went in there was not a lot of people anyway but this was after lunch. The food was very good and the prices are not too crazy. Staff is wonderful very nice and polite I really appreciate that a lot too.

Waited about 25 minutes for a lunch table on a Monday. Seems they were shorthanded. Tables were not being used. The area we sat in, close to restrooms, was chilly. Service from waitress was good. Food was good.

Great spot for a bite if you're getting a weekly special. Stand outs are the skillet cookie dessert and hummus apps. TLDR: Nothing has yet to really stand out here and make us go wow, 5 stars. The weekly specials are an amazing value and if you're in the mall, and need a bite. A pizza each, beer, and dessert to share for under $30 on Thursdays. Food: Brunch here is good. Great classic flavors combined with a few you don't encounter too often. Benedict menu stands out but it'll cost more per usual. Dinner menu isn't as robust but still tasty. Margarita Pizza was nice. Dessert: We've only tried the skillet cookie. But it's the best I've had in RVA. Stop here for the treat at minimum. Add ice cream of course. Drinks: Decent local selection on tap, and the bar tenders know how to mix fairly well. No disappointments. Atmosphere: Clean, welcoming, and embracing the artesian flair. What you would expect in the short pump area.

Always love to visit this restaurant, particularly for brunch. During my recent visit, it was so busy that the wait time was 30 minutes. We still chose to wait and took a stroll in the Short Pump Mall which easily took away half an hour and our table was ready by the end of the tour. Recommend visiting!

Great food for a great price. The atmosphere was nice and quiet. I was there when it wasn't very busy, late afternoon on a Monday. They also have a fire pit for outside dining.

A nice place for breakfast. Affordable prices on their menus. Not what I expected on the meal I ordered but it turned out to be delicious. Nice design on their spoons and coffee mugs. The ambiance is good overall, spacious with different table seats for you to choose from. Great staff.
