Very good BBQ!- try the sampler plate. The potato salad is the best I have ever had.
I've eaten barbecue all over the United States and nothing else comes close to J&B.
Good Food. Good food for the money. Pork chops and chicken is above average. Sides are exceptional. Would highly recommend.
A very good local place. We stopped for lunch on a Tuesday and got the last open table at 11:30. The sampler is a great deal for $8 with a lot of food. The chicken and pork were excellent though the rib was too dry for my liking.
The best barbeque EVER!. Went to Moonlight in Owensboro last week and it doesn't even hold a candle to J & B! Loved their ribs, potato salad and beans. The sauce was amazing and I tried some of my friend's pulled pork... awesome! We will most certainly be back!

Terrific neighborhood spot. The "John" of J&B is a former competitive barbecuer; the "B" is the son of the man who oversaw the cooking for dozens of barbecue fundraisers (especially barbecue chickens) for local non-profits for several decades. They teamed up several years ago and have been a Henderson sensation. The lunch rush often fills every table, and on holidays, folks are lined up to pick up carryout orders they placed ahead of time. The barbecue chicken is faithful to "B's" family heritage, but many folks swear by the ribs (there's a sampler plate available so you can try kinds of their barbecue). Some folks say they also serve the best cheeseburger in town. Without question, they prepare the best potato salad -- it's hand-made, not scooped out of a bucket of yellow commercial goo. Really, all their sides (slaw, barbecue beans, fries) are well above average. It's off the beaten path, but locals have been beating a path to their door. I believe they're open until 6 p.m. Tuesday thru Friday, but they do close at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
J & B' barbeque chicken is.... J & B's barbequed chicken is the best barbequed chicken available in Western Kentucky. You can get barbeque sauce with it, and it is good-but you don't NEED the barbeque sauce to make it good! It is great- hot off of the barbeque grill, and it has been basted with a butter sauce and spices that make it sensational just the way it is. Lots of barbeque joints don't excel at the side items, but J&B's coleslaw and potato salad draw rave reviews from everyone I know. Owensboro has NOTHING on Henderson when it comes to barbeque. So, experience great Western Kentucky barbeque at the establishment which now defines it- J&B's! Warning- J&B's is closed on Mondays and they close at 1:00PM on Saturdays! Call ahead if you have a large carry-out order, because I have been there when they have run out of food. So, treat your tastebuds, and get out to J&B's. They are SMOKING! (although, of course, the restaurant is non-smoking.)
