The bread they serve is delicious. I had the chicken and ravioli with baked potato. Is was hot and lovely. Hubby had pork and that was lovely too. Very nice meal. �
I haven’t been to Flat Rock in a while, but went in to enjoy a meal with my daughter before catching a movie. Our food (hickory glazed salmon and stuffed flounder) were delicious and our server, I believe her name was Alexis, was awesome!!! I’ll definitely be going back more often!
This is a comfortable and relaxing place to eat. In the winter we like sitting by the fireplace. The she crab soup is great year round. They also have a nice bar area. Their cheese cake is awesome. We visit here often, very consistent food and friendly service.
Food was good as well as the service. I rated a four due to the menu. We went at lunch and they had a lunch menu which was fine, however the menu was very busy and unorganized. There was no organization to the menu, items that should have been together were not. For example chicken items together, fish etc. The menu seemed to be more limited than when we had ate there before, possibly due to lunch menu opposed to dinner. The great thing was that for a salad or sandwich there were lots of choices.
The atmosphere of Flat Rock Grille feels intimate and dark. The stuffed flounder on the lunch menu is light and tasty. The stuffed chicken breast is delightful and served with delicious honey barbeque sauce. Fair experience with okay bread. 👍
Visiting Furman University from out of town. We asked around for best restaurant and our hotel gave us Flat Rock. We had a great experience both with food and service. We now come here when we are in town to enjoy the atmosphere with family, friends and players of the team. We came back the next day and ate lunch and had the plum chicken with plantains. yummy !
Loved the atmosphere. My husband and I were extremely impressed with the food. I got the Baked Stuffed Shrimp with Lobster Sauce and it was amazing. I mean melt in you mouth. Husband got the ribs and they were fall off the bone tender. The service was fantastic she was attentive without being overbearing and we never had to wait for a drink refill or anything. I think we found our new "Go To".
Always enjoy this local restaurant. Friendly staff. Salads are delicious. Salmon is one of my favorites. The crab soup is fresh. Watch for shells. Haha. The couple times I've actually had room for dessert, they were great.
