I love the Schwaben House. It's unique, the food is fantastic, and the service is superb! If you want a quality, lovely, enjoyable dinner, go to the Schwaben House. You won't experience another restaurant in Greenville like it. Plus, they change their decorations 4x a year so it's different look depending on what time of the year you go.
I had the pleasure of living in Germany for six years. There are many things to love about that beautiful country but dining stands out in my mind as perhaps the best. Schwben HAUS has captured the the very best of hospitality, ambiance, and pride in culinary excellence that Germany is known for. The owners and staff are welcoming, helpful and justifiably proud of bringing a truly authentic German dining experience to Greenville.

I was on my own and sat at the bar. The bar is a slice of a maple tree. It's the prettiest bar I've ever seen, and I've travelled. They serve German beer, so I had some and it was good. The lady behind the bar was taking freshly washed silverware and polishing it before wrapping it in clean napkins. Not just wiping it, polishing it, with pride, because that's what they do in German restaurants. This place was clean, really clean. Did I mention the beer was good? The extremely polite lady that served me said all the soups were good, but recommended the cream of garlic soup, the soup of the day. Before I got the soup, she bought me a small appetizer. I can't remember what it was, but it was on a single small piece of dried bread/cracker. Anyway, it looked fit for a king, and tasted just as good. Outstanding in fact. She was right about the soup too, it was good. It was VERY good. They serve it in a small mason jar. A bit quirky, but hey, I'm getting picky. Next came the salad. It was a German salad, it was good. Fresh and done right. I ordered the Weiner Schnitzel, a classic. I changed the order to have fries instead of potato salad, and added the mushroom sauce. No problem, the kitchen got it right, the portion was good, non-greasy, fries were top notch, and the Shnitzel was crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. This is not a cheap restaurant. Dinner is an up market experience, and the price reflects that, but it should not disappoint. If you want cheap, try their lunch, or go elsewhere. If you want great service and great food from some truly wonderful people that care about their food and keep a spotless restaurant, you won't find much better. I didn't get to try dessert.....but I will next time.
There back and some how better... They have went from one of the better place for German food to one of the very best and quite frankly better then several I have had in west Germany back in the day, new building, great atmosphere we started with couple great soups noted potato and onion thing were Very nice. The sauerbraten was killer and I’m not a cabbage person, Spaetzel almost got me in trouble as it was not my plate and it was that good. Schnitzel’s, yea tried all the types we had not a bad one. Bad thing couldn’t fit desert, there will be many next times. Do call for reservation they will fill fast and are worth it.

LOVE,LOVE, LOVE this place. Almost as good as being in Germany. The owners and staff do a beautiful job with food and ambience. The new decorating and Christmas atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is way above par.

Athentic for Real. Having recently returned from a 10 day trip to Germany, I can honestly say that this restaurant IS the REAL DEAL. The food was wonderful and the proprietors were friendly and accommodating. I live in Boca Raton, Florida where restaurants open and close like the sun rises and sets. This restaurant would be a welcomed change to the endless Italian and Chinese restaurants that are 90% of the options we have for upscale, authentic dining in Boca Raton. I look forward to eating here again when I return to the area.
A Greenville Jewel!. This is the place for genuine Schwabisch style foods! Just as in any country, there are regional types of cooking in Germany, and Schwaben House serves up the cuisine of this area near Stuttgart. The host and hostess are happy to present their menu in English or German if you prefer. The menu is a good representation of the region, and the drink menu has several great beesr and a wide selection of wine. Try the "Radler," if you'd like to have more than one!
The prices were very reasonable. Four drinks and two entrees came in for $50.00.
