We moved right down the road back in January and we have come here almost every week off and on. We love it! The food is good and the staff is sweet and friendly. They work well together and always treats the customers with respect. My almost 2 year old is the star of the restaurant when we go. They give him attention and even treat him to a little dessert every now and then, which he loves. Thank you for providing quality food and service.
Absolutely Loved this place!
We stopped in on our way to a music festival in Danville, VA. My friend wanted to stop because the name reminded him of an old South Park episode - I just wanted the local diner experience.
We were not disappointed. We stopped in am hour before close (2pm, I think), and were treated like Family. Our server was so wonderful, answering questions (Ex: What's the difference between a pancake and a griddle cake? Answer: Their griddle cake is made from a grits patty, so it ends up with a slightly crispy outer layer texture and the almost silky interior of warm grits. I ordered it and it blew my freakin' mind!), and when I told her this was my first experience with grits, she brought me a small bowl of buttery grits to try because theirs are so good. She Was RIGHT! Oh Mama, changed my life. I finally understand the obsession with grits!! I even mixed in a littler apple butter (which they just HAVE Sitting on the table!) toward the end, and my heart hurt a little when they were gone.
The sweet tea is a strong black tea, and the prices were great. We stayed full for 5 or 6 hours, even while rocking out in the Blue Ridge mountains.
Please come enjoy a meal here and keep this genuine gem open!!
Friendly folks in a nice clean atmosphere. Our dinners were very tasty and the location made for a very convenient stop on my way home from Greensboro. Don't miss the sweet, light, and fluffy homemade cornbread too! 😋
Convenient/Excellent Service/Perfect Price Points. My husband and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The traditional "country service" is A+. We ate breakfast here and would definitely stop here again.
Work contracted breakfast and dinner here for us for 15 days, so I think I've seen about everything on the menu. Delicious southern cooking at a great price. The staff treated us like family. A great experience.
Delicious food and great service even when they were short handed. Make sure you add an order of cornbread we loved it!
I like Country Kitchen, and I'm sorry to see them closing at 2:00 pm everyday. There are no other restaurants in the area to get home cooked meals...such a shame....
