Best Indian food we’ve ever eaten - in any restaurant, in any state we’ve visited. Tony, the owner, is a wonderful man. Before your meal, or even during it, he’ll regale you with tales about his native Punjab, the movie industry, and life in general. I can’t say enough about how delicious this food is, and how enjoyable the dining experience is. Highly recommended!

I've had Indian curries all over the country and this is some of the best I've had anywhere! I strongly recommend this place for take-out to anyone traveling to Grand Rapids. I had several menu items and have been delighted with every one of them. The dining room is not nice and they don't serve beer, but the food keeps me coming back every time I'm in town.

Great food, third world atmosphere. The food here, and the hospitality are great. Very friendly owner, though sometimes a little hard to understand. I wish the recipe descriptions were a little more detailed, as they make everything sound very similar even though the dishes can taste very different. It can be hard to remember what is what.

The restaurant side seems relatively clean, but old and spartan. The only bathrooms are on the grocery store side, and that's where it looks pretty bad. It just looks like a third world market. The bathrooms are old, in ill-repair, and not that clean. You can't help to wonder about the kitchen...

But the food is very good!

Food is good, atmosphere is uhm.... They have good food, but to be honest the place is a little lacking, it's dark, with poor quality florescent lighting making what little light there is poor quality, it's attached to an Indian market with a sliding glass door separating them.

The food was absolutely incredible! This was easily the best Indian Food I’ve ever had! I had the vegetable samosas, Rajma Aloo, and vegan garlic naan. The building and dining room look rough, but the food was so good and flavorful! It is a tad on the pricey side. Honestly, I’d rather have a little smaller portion, and knock the price down a little bit.

My wife and I came here at the recommendation of a friend who has good taste. The food was absolutely fantastic and we were greeted warmly by the owner who was very kind. He was very friendly and told us about the business and made the food promptly. He had great pride in his restaurant as he should. I went with his recommendation and just got the butter chicken which was great and my wife got a vegetable dish which she absolutely loved too. The food was very filling and left good tastes in our mouths. The garlic naan was delightful. It was very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside at the same time; the perfect texture. We will definitely be back even though we live on the other side of town, and we will pass the recommendation on as our friend recommend it to us.

We had takeout food, so I won’t rate the atmosphere. The food was amazing! I think the favorite amongst the seven of us that ate it was the Chicken Garlic, with everything else a very close second. The cauliflower pakora was to die for. It was a bit before we ate it, so it had cooled down. A minute or two int he air fryer brought it back to spectacular! The chicken korma was another favorite, and of course garlic naan on the side to tie it all together. I will absolutely be back there soon. I picked the food up at 4pm to bring home (an hour away), it stayed piping hot, because I put it in a small cooler to keep it warm. We could tell everything was made fresh. Thank you to the (I’m guessing) owner that waited on me. Great job!

Excellent service, great food. I really like the way they make their garlic naan. It was a bit pricey compared to other places in town but the servings feel a little larger. I was able to share samosas, naan, and Rogan Josh with my daughter and it was more food than we could finish in one sitting

Food was great they took the time to explain what we were getting. Listened to our concerns over how spicy. Tony made recommendations after asking us a few questions about our tastes. Food was served fast and hot. I’m sure my wife and I will return and try other recommendations. Not crowded at all. We went for dinner. Soon I think I’ll try lunch buffet. We came home with four boxes of left overs. The portions were very generous.

My husband stumbled upon this jewel hidden on Division Street. We parked in the back and entered the back door. I had Chai, which was really good. The vegeable pakora was perfectly cooked and the mango chutney was just the right amount of sweetness. Lentil.soup was an explosion of flavors with a little heat. The lamb madras and chicken channa were delicious. The naan and parathma balanced it all nicely. Friendly staff, fresh food, pleasant atmosphere. Lovely dining experience.

Hands down one of the best Indian restaurants in the midwest. Naan is made in house and has that great homemade taste that you will not get in many Indian restaurants in Chicagoland for sure. Ask for the paneer vandaloo, one of the greatest creations hand crafted by the chef. Great place, delicious food!

This place has the BEST Chicken Curry of all the Indian restaurants I've been to. The owners, Tony and his family, are from northwest India, and that's where my mom and dad are from too. I LOVE the Chicken curry here. I can actually EASILY break the chicken pieces with a spoon to fit a piece of chicken covered in the curry into my naan scoop. Plus I get garlic naan and 2 pops from here too. Man it is so delicious!!! I like very much that his daughter would help waitress. Any family business anywhere where the kids work with the parents always warms my heart. I love seeing that. Tony was a trailblazer. He opened the very first store in the GR area that sold groceries and supplies to make Indian food at home. That was in 1995 next to JT's pizza in Cascade. So my parents started going to his store in 1995 to get the needed things to make Indian food at home. Before Tony opened his store, my parents had to drive to a suburb of Detroit to get supplies (1988 to 1995) and before that my parents had to go all the way to Chicago (1980 to 1988). Before that my parents were in lovely England many years (in the 70s when it was safe and my parents loved it there) and there was no problem getting supplies there. Tony was a life-saver for my parents in 1995.

Great food, friendly and loved the decor. Front porch should be fun in the summer!
