Our group of 100+ ladies from Farm Women's Symposium (held at GR March 7-9, 2018) were dropped off at GR Downtown Market for lunch on March 8 during our Bus Tour. Several of us got a sandwich at Carver's, and Jay there directed us to Field & Fire (kitty-corner from him) for dessert. We had a hard time deciding but Natalie gave us some excellent suggestions and the place smelled so GOOD with the breads and pastries. Thanks so much, Natalie!
The new Cafe on Monroe is wonderful. I had the ham and cheese cross croissant and a Coffee. It was wonderful. Great addition to the Monroe North neighborhood. Check it out!
Every time I visit the Downtown Grand Rapids Market, I always buy bread and/or other treats from Field & Fire. Absolutely delicious bread and baked goods. I highly recommend this place. If you are in the Market, be sure to pick up goodies from this great spot!
I love their croisants and love their bread. But I don't like flies... In this photo there are 2 big flies comfortably sitting on pastry and there are about a dozen little fruit flies that are everywhere. I have seen these flies here on several occasions in August and even asked their workers why there were flies sitting on the pastry. It seems people working there are chill and relaxed about insects at their bakery. I guess the workers feel compassionate for the hungry insects... But if seriously, I hope they can fix this, I would be glad to get back one day! They need those blie light zappers killing flies. I haven't seen any!
Absurdly good croissants, and I was very impressed with how quickly the line moved. If you’re looking for a great croissant I would say it’s worth a drive.
Wonderful bread and pastries to satisfy any hunger or taste. Definitely recommend the sourdough soft pretzels, they are SO good.
The breads here are delicious! I haven't had a baked good I didn't like. The texture and tastes are on point. This location is inside the indoor market place.
I got a multigrain loaf of bread. It's heavy and has a nice chewy crust. The inside is soft and moist. Loved it! Wish I loved closer so I could buy bread here more often.
Excellent bread that isn't even close to being expensive. I'm seriously shocked at how cheap the bread here is, considering it's very high quality.
Try some of everything until you are full that's what I did.
Located in the Downtown market. Fresh artisan bread and pastries. Pricey but very high quality.
This is our GO-TO place for breakfast, pastries and bread! We got some of their sourdough starter for home baked bread, but nothing beats their loaves. And a Box of Happy makes us so...happy!!!
