Best i have found in GR so far. I have tried several chinese restaurants in the GR area and this one is the best I have found. Not too expensive, the service is attentive, wait isn't long if you order to go, and it's clean. The food is tasty, not too spicy and not bland. I love the Bali Bali Beef appetizer that comes on a little hibachi to your table. So far this is the only comparable chinese to Kalamazoo's Hunan Gardens.
So GOOD!!! If you are in kentwood or wyoming and want Chinese this is the place no question.
Outstanding. I prefer buffets for the obvious variety or I would go here a lot more often. Ecellent food, excellent service and good prices keep bringing me back. I have nothing even slightly negative to say.

Good Chinese food in GR. This was my favorite Chinese restaurant until I tried Chan's in Spring Lake ... but as for GR, the First Wok is still first!
Favorite Chinese Restaurant!!!. I've been to so many Chinese restaurants in the Grand Rapids area, and let me tell you, this is the BEST place to go.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is excellent, perfect for a date, family outing, or even big parties.
The staff is so welcoming and friendly, and the food is so well prepared and delicious.
They currently have 3 locations, my favorite being the one in Cascade on old 28th street.
I recommend this place to everyone who lives or even is visiting grand rapids who are looking for great food and a great time!
The food was awesome! First time eating here and they gave me and my wife free crab cheese! Highly recommended!
Excellent Food. I love this place. If I am looking for a non-buffet Chinese restaurant, this is where I go. It is a great family owned business that has the highest quality food with the perfect flavor for me. I have not had one guest not come out without being totally impressed.
Fantastic food as always! Server was wonderful despite being busy as heck! Fresh veggies, fully stuffed crab Rangoons, enough food for 2 meals of leftovers after eating full plates! Highly recommended! So many choices for everyone's taste. Egg drop packed full of deliciousness!
Came here for my birthday a while ago, I had a whole Peking Duck, which needs to be ordered in advance, it was very delicious, most Chinese restaurants don’t have them available so I’m glad they do, since I like trying authentic food, our server Mandy was really friendly and helpful too, so glad we came and got to try something special!
Lunch plates have gotten a bit pricey but well worth it! $15 for your entree, fried rice, egg roll and your choice of soup. Their egg drop is the best I’ve ever had! I love and recommend the Hunan Beef and add an appetizer order of crab Rangoons. Wash it all down with some delicious hot tea. Three locations, Alpine, 28th and 44th Ave. been going here for the last tree decades now. Wish all my meals were this yummy!
This place is a great oriental restaurant that gives great quality foods at a reasonable price. I tried the curry chicken and found it to be awesome. The beef and broccoli is really good too. The staff are always awesome in their service and communicating. Love the smiles they bring.

The Shrimp toast was something my wife was looking to try because we cant find shrimp balls anywhere. The Shrimp toast was tasty and fried just right.
(Lemon Chicken at any Chinese restaurant is something you need to get in house as it is neccessary for the chicken to be fried just right and not get soggy from the sauce.) The Lemon Chicken here was delicious and crispy, just right.
The Beef with Black Mushrooms was yummy and full of Pea Pods and Bamboo that were the perfect texture and flavor.
The ladies who were running the floor seemed a little hurried to try to get to the next table as it was a busy dining room. I refuse to fault them for that. The only other item of complaint would be that the music got stuck on the same song looped over and over while we were there.
This was my go to when I lived in Kentwood. It has been about 10 years since my last visit. We had the same server and she is just wonderful. Their food is still the best in the area. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because their lunch prices are nearly double what they used to be. I consider $14 + for a lunch meal pretty pricey.
First Wok Kentwood, MI has super fresh food, clean setting, and great service. Every dish I’ve ordered has come out fresh and full of flavor! My family especially enjoys the eat in experience. Prices are a bit higher than I’m used to, but it’s seems worth it.
We always enjoy this great restaurant. The staff are genuinely happy to help us every time we eat here.
By far the best Chinese restaurant in Grand Rapids. Amazing service, amazing food, and amazing tea! My partner and I can’t complain about a thing! My father has been bringing me here since I was like 6 and I’m 20 now. My kids will know to love this place as well.
P.s. Mongolian Beef is our favorite dish! The egg rolls and egg drop soup are phenomenal for appetizers.
