We came for authentic Szechuan dinner, not American Panda Express. Large menu with great dishes. Something for everyone. The food came out on time and was very good. I don't give many 5 star reviews but they deserved this one.
Clean and comfortable, atmosphere is relaxed. The staff were on top of things, polite, helpful. I'll be back to try another half dozen plates I have my eye on.
The best Authentic Chinese food I ever had in LA area, full of flavors. Their Sze Chuan Spicy food is a must try, recommend dry chili chicken, hot and spicy cumin fish, mapo tofu and lamb with cumin, if you are difficult with spicy food, try crispy shrimp or crispy duck, the pork belly with preserved vegetables is also a must try without spicy.
This is my favourite restaurant of Szechuan style food, highly recommend their Dry chili chicken, toothpick lamb and Cripsy shrimp, be honestly, even better than I had in China.

Best choice in Glendale if you like spicy food. I have been living in Glendale for 6 years and I visit Lao Sze Chuan nearly every weekend. Usually it is busy at dinner time of weekend, so I suggest that make a reservation before going at weekends. For food, I like boiled fish fillet best, as well as Green Peppercorn Series. Street curbside parking is not recommended, costs too much. There is free parking structure just opposite the restaurant, the entrance is next to In-n-out. On Maryland AVE., there is another parking structure with 1.5 hours free parking. You may also park in Americana, that is 1 hour free parking.
Really good service. Food was between very good and just o.k. ho fun was the best thing we tried, soup, pot stickers were good, mapo tofu below expectations, orange chicken was not very good, mostly breading instead of chicken. Charging for rice to go with the main dishes felt a bit petty. Maybe that's an LA thing but it still rubbed us the wrong way.
I'd go back because of the service, will try other dishes to find those those that suit me best.
This restaurant is a great place for a birthday party, business meeting or a small event. I booked it there because they are one of the few restaurants that has large round table in a private room that can fit up to 20 people. The food was really fresh, flavorful and abundant portions. The waiters and waitresses were very friendly. It's a must visit restaurant when you're at the Americana Mall in Glendale, CA. Park at the Glendale Galleria for FREE. The entrance to the parking lot is next to the In-And-Out fast food restaurant. Lao Sze Chuan is right across the street.
