My favorite sushi bar closed down a few months ago. I have been looking for a good place. Yen Sushi has great ratings, and in my opinion the ratings are up to par. This is my new go to for 🍣. The wife loved it as well. We started with miso 🍲. We had a California hand roll, Philly roll, rattlesnake roll, and finished with the baked scallop roll. Fantastic. We did get there at 300 pm, they were not extremely busy. Food was out in a decent amount of time. If you are looking for good sushi, I personally recommend this place. Do not pass it up like I have. Like the book Green Eggs and Ham, "Try it, try it, you will see."

*Best Japanese ive had in Phoenix I was super surprised to find such a great authentic Japanese Restaurant in Phoenix. Everything was really delicious and they had a very extensive menu, anyone could find something to love on. Bonus points in my book for the fresh wasabi root on demand. Service was very attentive and friendly. HUGE value on the lunch menu. I look forward to returning soon.

Very clean inside. There is also outside seating. I had the ribs, very flavorful and tender. The service was fast & friendly.

Honestly the best sushi we've found in the Phoenix area!!! I recommend going during happy hour (8 pm) and getting the Crazy Boy roll and vegetable gyoza. I cannot recommend the Crazy Boy roll enough. If you can get past the fact that it's fried sushi, it will change your life. Another favorite of mine is the Alaska Roll. Other than that, everything is fresh and the service is good. Highly recommend Yen Sushi!

Wanted to say thank you for understanding my shellfish allergy and letting me customize a roll to remove the shellfish and add salmon instead. This was the first time I ever actually LOVED sushi that I could eat, and finished the whole roll to myself!

I've never had such a friendly host and server before. They were just so respectful and honest! The atmosphere was beautiful and really cozy. The food was delicious, even the leftovers the following day were enjoyable. I liked how I could watch the chefs make the sushi and set it up on the bar.

Had a nice little dinner out with a friend. We went on a Tue evening and it wasn't super busy, so we didn't have to wait for a table. I started out with an order of pineapple sake, which reminded me so much of the pineapple wine I used to get when I lived in Okinawa, which was super exciting for me. We tried the steamed gyoza as an appetizer and had 4 different rolls. Everything had a great flavor and I enjoyed trying some new things like the cucumber wrapped rolls on a stick that looked like lollipops. If you're looking to try a new sushi place, I'd definitely suggest you give this place a try.

Not far from the busy intersection of 101 and highway 17, you can find authentic Japanese food in a low key strip mall; the menu, especially all day happy hour menu is both extensive and affordable; either family meals or going out with a group of friends, this place provides excellent menu choices; the calamari rings look like onion rings, with chewy texture and taste of ocean; flavored shochu is great; however, the other drink we ordered - sake bomb is not that great; the combination of cold beer with warm sake is weird (and all other places I visited, use cold sake).
