Took a drive to Gainesville from Ocala this morning specifically to go to Uppercrust. It was well worth the drive. We found the staff very friendly, the selection of baked goods and wine was amazing, and the croissants were perfect. We will definitely be visiting Uppercrust again!
This is my absolute favorite place to eat in gainesville!! Their pastries are to die for!
Hands down best French bakery in Gainesville! Love the Reine de Saba cake! It's rich but the apricot preserves bring just a hint of tart that lifts the flavor. I got a small 4in one for my boyfriend's birthday and had to make a last minute call to pick it up. They were super nice and didn't say anything when I showed up with less than 10min until closing. The interior is designed like a typical french bakery and I can't wait to come back to try more pastries!
Edit: Love their french roses!!
These folks are the greatest. A true gem in a small town that would be the same diamond in the rough in any big city around the world. We’re all lucky to have this little slice of buttered deliciousness. On the daily they gather pure hope in the form of baked crumbs left behind by angels from heaven. The only down side, I can’t go here daily, but I try. Don’t know Ben the owner, but by his responses below, he’s fantastic. Wild that folks go to a place often and only post a negative review after many good times, but alas, negative reviews won’t stop this place from barreling into the future with its baked and buttered plow of magnificent belly healing bread. The staff is endlessly kind and helpful. My only real critical feedback, is the continued use of masks & efforts to distance…but who f’in cares, I’ll triple mask, booster twice a month, and whatever else they mandate just to get my hands on the smell of breadcrumbs from heaven. Thanks y’all!
Awesome french bakery with a huge selection.... It made for a really tough decision
Fresh baked breads, pastries and then some. I like to get the ham and cheddar quiche, have tried others, this is my favorite. The quiche is light and tasty. I also tried one of the chocolate croissants, which was enjoyable.
Delicious. Everything here is made with care. The rosemary bread, the eclaires, the almond pastries, the cinnamon rolls with cream cheese, and the savory items as well. I am so glad to live close enough to indulge myself every morning with fresh perfect pastries.
So happy to find a quality French bakery in Gainesville! There was a line out the door waiting to order - it was worth the wait. I selected 7 different pastries and croissants, all were delicious, but the Fleur au Pistache was our favorite. We split each pastry into 4 pieces and shared. Very tasty lunch.
Never a disappointment! Our kids love their different seasonal assortments and we purchase their macaroons for all our school birthday parties! Friendly staff and adorable plushies on the way out!
