Took myself out for my first ever solo meal. This was the perfect place to do so. It was not crowded, had delicious food and was reasonably priced. Waitress helped me pick the perfect sushi roll, Lion king and I also ordered stuffed mushrooms. Left happy and full!!!
Wow, I think this place is a hidden gem in Fresno. I ordered takeout this time but next time, I plan to dine in.
Food 10/10 - My mother is a picky eater but she approves of this restaurant. She's very picky about sushi rice and this restaurant was spot on. Cooked very nicely and used the correct sushi rice. We ordered the Oka roll, Samurai roll, seafood salad and fried calamari. Balanced amount of fish and sushi rice. Wrapped very nicely and did not break upon picking it up.
Service 10/10 - Although I only ordered take out, I was greeted and helped very quickly. When I was on the phone placing the order, the lady that helped me was patient and answered my questions. (I asked what was in the seafood salad and whether I can substitute the lettuce for more seaweed salad. She listed what was in the seafood salad and said yes, they can substitute for more seaweed salad.)
Very lovely place with open airy feel and chill modern music where you can enjoy your own thoughts or talk with your party. I came on a weekday evening and just two other tables full. I had prompt attending to for beverage service throughout the meal and for ordering. And the sushi I got was top notch. Been looking for good sushi rice and simple rolls, this place hit the mark.
So yummy! My two daughters' (8 & 4) favorite sushi place. We have recently moved to NY and this place is #1 our list of places to eat we come to visit. Everything is fresh and delicious!
Was greeted with a warm and welcoming smile and helped with the description of what I wanted in their menu. Wonderful! Will come back if I’m the area and hungry for sushi :)
Most amazing pot stickers I've EVER had. I don't personally eat sushi, but my dining companion said it was the best she had ever tasted. So happy to have stumbled upon this hidden gem. Will definitely be returning and recommend everyone to try.
Lovely restaurant! While the variety of cooked rolls (yes, I am one of those people who go to a sushi place and order everything cooked...) was very limited, the quality was really good. I had a Butterfly sushi roll with freshwater eel tempura inside and shrimp outside - delicious! House wine is very reasonable at $5.95. Tiny place that can seat at most 40 people, but great service and nice ambiance. Will certainly come back!
Great variety of sushi I haven't seen elsewhere! Great service, great food! Good cozy atmosphere. A week later, I'm still trying to decide if one of their rolls is my favorite sushi roll ever. They serve their sake in a bamboo container! We will definitely come back to Oka!
