Rocked up here on a Friday night and glad we did. Absolutely gorgeous owner Con looked after us and was so kind. There’s no food service but he suggested we grab food from a local fish and chip shop and bring it back. Which we did. Every Friday night a talented 84 year old jazz musician plays piano and sings. And is more than happy for anyone to bring instruments and join in. He had so many stories. Con brought us out a brownie and cream courtesy of himself and let us stay in the car park in our camper van. Patrons were lovely also. Highlights of my trip meeting these beautiful locals.
Great Italian pizza, in a relaxing place by the river!
the tavern is very welcoming
Camped at Franklin Tavern for 10$ pP, owner was a lovely old German fella who was super sweet during our stay, we even got breakfast from him. He was super nice and a funny chap to talk with, quite a nice place to camp or even just stop for a beer!
Have been longing to step foot inside and finally in Franklin when open. Lovely owner with lots of history to discuss if you are thus inclined. One of the older pubs in Tassie and one of the only ones that still keeps the somewhat original look and feel. Worth a stop, chat and cold bev if this is your thing.
A great quirky pub, a must visit when in Franklin
Great atmosphere!! Fun relaxing g time to be had. Haven't had a meal but heard they are top quality
Wonderful Host, very good experience!
Nice inexpensive camping as well...
Great place. owner knowledgeable on history beer cold and nice cocktails flowing. Have to stop there
Cosy, snug little pub. Like 'ole English Taverns of a by gone era. Amazing green leather booth settles for seating at tables & fireside. Best drinks prices for miles & miles.
Good food and beverages. Variety of special wines. History of Franklin and memorabilia also on premises. Friendly staff.
