Menudo perfected. We live in Arlington and can't find good hole in the wall Mexican food. growing up in San Antonio we crave this. El Asadero offers Menudo 7 days a week, they have perfected this culturally appreciated dish.
Great food all around tasty & cheap. Better than most around here on same level as Joe T half the price. Lunch menu is very inexpensive anything beef fajita variations wonderful. Small so could have t wait for a seat. Come early for lunch always fills up.
Mole Sauce/Salsa. What a GREAT place!!! Outstanding salsa, mole sauce and tamales!!!
Popped in while in town briefly (having read good reviews) and loved it!!!
Returned two days later before leaving town...
Great backup if you don't want to wait at another north side Mexican food place. Service is not great but food is very good. Salsa is very spicy and addictive. Mole is awesome and a rare find. More interesting choices than the typical Tex Mex.
Best Mexican food in Fort Worth
We went here when we found it on Urbanspoon. We trusted the 90% rating and reviews. It was fantastic food.
Another nice surprise. I have heard good things about El Asadero for a while now. But, I never remembered to try it when I had the time (and was nearby).. Well, yesterday, I made a point of going out and trying somewhere new and El Asadero ended up being that place.
When you walk in, the place looks small. (It is.) I initially thought "they can probably only seat 30 people or so in here MAX.) Well, I eventually did a quick count and they can cram more in there than that. But, it is NOT a big restaurant. But, don't let that keep you away.
After looking over the menu, I decided to try something "different" (for me) at this new (to me) place. I got the Beba's Special. Flame broiled fish fillet, a shrimp kabob (shrimp only, no other veggies on the kabob), one HUGE fried shrimp, a stuffed crab, avocado, and other assorted 'salad' veggies.
The tea I ordered came out in a big Mason jar, which I liked. I use big Mason jars at home, too. :) I will say that the temperatures of the different food items could've been regulated a little better. The stuffed crab seemed considerably warmer than the other food items..... and I ate it last. But, everything was still reasonably hot, seasoned well, and tasted good. So, I won't hold that against them. I did come in at an 'off' time..
The salsa is good, with more of a green tint to it. It had a nice flavor. I suspected that it might be even better if it had been warm. The tortillas (I had corn) were either made on site or locally acquired.. The chips..? They were good. They were the thicker restaurant style chips, but seemed plenty fresh and went well with the salsa.
Will I go back? Yes. Will I try to introduce people to this place? Yes. Was it worth the drive? Yes. If this place were on southside instead of just south of the Stockyards, would I drive across town for it? Perhaps.. But, it being so close to home will make it a convenient go-to place for me. :)
Best Mexican food period. Great family owned and operated restaurant offering authentic food. Have been frequenting this restaurant since the early 80s when it was on East Lancaster in Fort Worth. The Milanesa, chuleton and green enchiladas are off the charts. Salsa is not for the faint of heart but hands down the best in DFW.
Best Tex- Mex in Fort Worth HANDS DOWN!!. I can't believe I have not written a review about this place yet. I and my wife go at least once a week. This is by far the best Mexican eatery in Fort Worth. The prices are excellant and the food is fresh and always HOT and tasty. They have the best salsa(QUITE HOT AT TIMES) but very good, and the chips are always fresh when brought to your table. Large glass's of tea in mason jars helps keep you cool, and they have an assortment of beers, rita's, and wine for your dining pleasure. I would suggest the Enchilada's Poblomo, Fijita's, or any of the enchilada platters. My wife always gets the Chalupa Platter. We useally eat for lest than $20.00 total, including tip(cheese enchilada's, chalupa platter & two teas). Check it out, you will not be dissapointed.
Tell tale clues. You know a Mexican restaurant is authentic when it's frequented by Mexicans. Their queso asadero is simply the best!
This place has been a staple for me. There food is all ways consistent that means the world to me. The price are no jacked up super high like a lot of places are doing these days. Food is perfect. Service is perfect there are direct and to the point and let you enjoy your company you are with. Atmosphere is matching the food and culture. This is a must try place! Parking is limited.
Was once a fave of ours. It's been 20 yrs since we last went and I was disappointed to find out that they only have unsweetened tea. 😖 Nachos with beans were good. Cheese enchiladas had red sauce that was super spicy. They kindly brought me another without the sauce. And the Caldo de res was really salty. I forgot to take pictures. Sorry
Another hidden gem, right on Main Street! We started with the queso appetizer, it's pretty solid and meant to sandwich inside the fresh tortillas. I had a lunch plate with beef enchiladas and taco, rice, and beans. Wow, it was delicious. The chips are fresh, and kinda thick. The salsa is very hot. Highly recommended!!
The Milanesa is divine!!!! No gristle, tender, and seasoned well. Beans so so good! Please though, consider offering at least one complimentary chips and salsa charge for extra serving. My friend had liver and onions and they loved it too.
We love this Northside mainstay we've visited off and in for years. I won't attempt to explain, but I am obsessed with their calf liver and onions dish and never order anything else there. The salsa is tangy and pica (boring salsa is always a deal-breaker for me). The dining room is small, but the staff hovers close by and is far above average in service and friendliness.
The Food is Amazing! Customer service is always great. Wonderful atmosphere the HotChips and sauce is Amazing!!
Limited parking but the food is excellent and the service is good, this establishment is 40 years in the Fort Worth Stockyards area with the same flavor and one of the servers Isias ..... A+ service
The fajitas were really good! They were really friendly and I had a cold beer that made my day.
Hyper-local Mexican place in the heart of Fort Worth, TX. Walk in and you'll see a pic of President Bush and his Wife eating at Los Asaderos, so you know it's special. Order anything from the unique menu and you'll be overwhelmed at the flavors. I know I was!
I love mole and noticed they offered it, so I had to have the enchiladas mole. It was great! Everyone enjoyed the food and service. Our server really took care of us. Making sure my father-in-law is taken care of can be a chore, but our server never blinked an eye. We were a larger party but this server stood tall to the very end.
Next time I'm in Fort Worth, I'm going to go back!
We were looking for an authentic place to eat when visiting Ft. Worth and this was a true hole in the wall with great service, large portions, friendly staff, just the right amount of kick to the salsa, chips were fresh (not salty), and the drinks were served in mason jars (large) which was truly a nice touch. Overall price - was $10-12 for fantastic, fresh ingredients. Loved it and recommend.
